Friday 22nd July

The publicity that the diet firm called Lighter life had this week was in my book, staggering to say the least!!!

Birds of a feather actress Pauline Quirke has become the new face of the product after losing around 6 stone or so.

I am normally the first to congratulate ANYONE on losing weight, especially that monumental but there’s a lot more to this story.

I am familiar with the product because of the feedback i get from people i train who know people who have been on it, and from people who have had lets say “eventful” experiences while taking it, and have now approached me to get them back on the right path of doing things the correct way.

Most people i know have lost weight on this product, but thats where the good news ends.

ALL not most, ALL of the people i know have put the weight back on and more again. The individuals i know were paying £300 a month for their shakes and bars, this seems to be the average price paid.

This was the most startling, shocking, annoying, horrible, disgusting part of it for me when i read about the actress taking it. I quote “i survive on 560 calories a day”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wonder people are losing weight on this, you SHOULD be losing tons of weight in a hurry but look at the strain on your body.

Go to any doctor or dietician and they will tell you the MINIMUM, and i say again, the MINIMUM an adult should take in every day is 1200 calories just not to become MALNOURISHED!!!!!! The recommended amount is 2000 for a female and 2500 for a male.

So here it is again, 560 calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Thats around 40% of what you need just to get by every day and thats classed as a starvation diet, what a disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!1

And people are paying £300 a month for this. Again, what a bloody disgrace that they are allowed to get away with this!!!!!! This producr should be banned because of the dangers and the long term misery its going to cause!!!!!!!!!! It really makes me mad!!!!

Great for those who lost weight, but keep an eye on them in the near future and see what happens!!!

This is the exact opposite of what we are trying to do, so lets look in the diet section to see some proper common sense!!!

  1. I remember seeing that article online Keri, and thinking how AMAZING she looked, I have always loved Pauline Quirke and she has always had an ongoing battle with her weight, I must admit that when I seen her picture on line she looked amazing, her hair was shining, her skin glowing and her figure, well I thought she must have had a gastric band fitted, then I read the article. I agree that 560 calories a day if very drastic to say the least, I could never manage on that even if I was not training, the article that I read didn’t mention whether she was exercising or not but I doubt it. If she did a 30min workout and burnt 300 cals that means she only had 260 left to survive on, really not the way to go. Cant train today, had the children yest, kneeling on the floor with Ryan, knew that I shouldn’t have, and didn’t when I remembered, and I soon remembered, but it is just a nartual thing to do. Had confirmation of my referral to the Orthopedic Surgeon today, hope it wont be long b4 the op, cant even cycle today, am icing cos I have them again 2mo, know that when I lose the weight my problems with the knee will ease, gone are the days I can just go for a run. Still I am looking ahead to having this op and getting back to the way I was. Enjoy the weekend

  2. Hello guys,
Yes I am still around and still working at it!!
I have a very dear friend who has recently lost 4stone using “Lighter Life”.
She looks so much better for the weight loss, and appears to have found it relatively easy to do.
I would love to have lost the same amount but there is NO WAY that I would even consider doing it this way. The cost is ridiculous for a start. You are on starvation rations and are NOT ALLOWED to exercise!! Ridiculous!!

I have not been in touch for a while. I was off line for a week or so and have had a holiday inbetween.
Glad to say that I have kept active and I am still positive about things.
I have found it hard to get to the gym as the opening hours correspond with my business hours, so I bought an air walker to keep me going at home with my dumbells and still enjoy Zumba!!
Hope all went well with your house move, Keri.
Hello Jean, take care of that knee.
    Cyril? You ok? x

    All the best,
    Deb xx

  3. The op will make a big difference to you jean and you will come back much stronger for it of course!

560 calories is bad news with longer term reprecussions, bad news all the way.

  4. Great to hear from you debs, glad to hear you’re still working out and your intelligence will automatically have flagged up lighter life as a dangerous diet that ranks right up there with all the stupid ones i have heard over the years, perhaps it takes the biscuit if you pardon the pun!!
