Talking about improving your training efforts, here are some easy ways to achieve exactly that.
A very good start would be to keep a training record of what you do. For example, if you go for a run on monday for 20 minutes on a hilly course, write it down and try and state how you feel too, was it easy, hard, did you have to walk most of it, did you do more than planned for example?
Then the next week you can go into the same run fully aware of what it would take to improve on that. If the previous week you managed 20 consecutive minutes but had to then stop, the a run of even 21 minutes would be seen as an improvement, so set that as your goal if time exercising is your goal. A better goal would be run a little bit further, so even if that takes the same 20 minutes, its a very real improvement. Going more distance in the same amount of time is a major achievement and is much more meaningful in my book.
If your training diary says that that you only trained twice last week but planned 3 times, then work out why you didnt do it. Did you expect to do it in the evening around 5pm, but something kept coming up? The best solution for me would be to switch the workouts to first thing in the morning, you’re less likely to have so many things going on before work or even before breakfast.
Working out in the morning takes the excuses out of your life, and can set you up to have a great day. It works for many people i know and now that they have got into early morning training, they would never go back to evening training. Plus you tend to burn body fat quicker before breakfast so it can work on many levels.
The key to improving your training is your training diary, write your progress down and you will feel much more motivated to improve, putting good pressure on yourself is a great way to keep you moving forward, instead of being stuck in a rut!!!

Well u guys, if I wasnt determined b4 I am after my visit to the Asthma Clinic today. My cholestoral is 6.6 and my BP is 150/95, not good. Never mind it has spurred me on to be more determined. Being seen again in a month and having another blood test in 2 weeks, dont know why my cholestral will not change in that space of time. Watch this space.
hope you get them normal soon Girl….:-)dont know what is good or not when it comes to that stuff???but i know one thing i’m driving my Asthma nurse nuts cos i’m only using the Pump before bed and before i go on the bike if its damp or cold out.i should be using it double what i do.Thing is i only had one pull with the chest, passing a farmer cutting grass and i thought i was going to die,cos i could breath(that was yrs ago when i was a postie)but i only tend to need it when i’m really ill.Which ain that often since i’ve bought this bike.Start getting this bloody weight down then perhaps i’ll need it even less 🙂
Ditto Cyril, I am the same, got told off yest for not using the pumps as I should, never accepted the fact that I am one. Bought an MP3 player yest, trying to RIP music on it, think I am STUPID, not getting anywhere. Going for a run now, will have to do with the RAP that is already on it. Yeah Cyril, I am hoping that when I lose this weight I will be able to stop using them. Think they hand them out too lightly, my granddaughter has one. Keep up the good work.
the worst thing about it jean is that are perfectly capable of having the best results for sure!!! its a criminal waste of talent that u find yourself in such a place, with some action though, you can turn it around very quickly. keep me informed please
u would be surprised how many very young children are using pumps now, this is very sad in my book. Lifestlye and over feeding have major parts to play.
The good news is that for you too, if you lose the weight, exercise well and stop eating the rubbish over a 3-6 month period, you are less likely to be using those pumps so much.
this is speaking as a heavy user myself in my childhood, exercise works and works big time!!!! give yourself a chance and it will happen
Thanx for your comments Keri, goin to try my hardest to do this, have dropped 3lbs this week so far, 13st 7lbs this am, only weighed cos I felt I had lost.
