Putting the hard in is not always glamorous, it’s frequently tough, difficult, character testing, sometimes you don’t really want to do it, and most people find excuses not to do it. These are the facts.

The few that do though are the ones who deserve the success. If it was easy, then everyone would be in great shape without sacrificing a thing. Unfortunately, it never works out like that!

The harder you work and the more you show up, the better results you will have.

The harder the work, the more you will want to eat healthier, and you won’t want to blow all that hard work.

The harder you work, the more you find out about your character. How deep you can dig when you really need it.

The harder you work, the more you can apply it to other areas of your life. Your work ethic will naturally rise to brand new levels. You work hard in your training, and your new found focus and determination spreads to all areas of your life.

I recognise the people who work the hardest now straight away, because they are the individuals who have changed the most in all ways. When you work hard, all your expectations in everything rise automatically.

Be prepared to put the work in, and look forward to seeing and enjoying the great results that it’s guaranteed to bring.

Your habits shape what you feel like, what you look like, what ambitions you have, how much energy you have, how positive you are, how hard you want to work, how much you’re going to develop-just about everything.

No one workout is going to give you everything you need.

No workout will make you a super athlete.

It’s the culmination of many workouts done over a substantial period of time that will make the big difference-don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Start missing workouts and the results will slow down and eventually come to a standstill.

Everything will start to become much harder when you do show up for your workouts and motivation will wane.

Same with your food. Start eating badly and skipping your good meal habits and you’re going to have poor workouts, your measurements will struggle that much more and guess what? Your motivation will disappear.

I always say that the most important workouts are the ones you may not feel like making, but you do anyway. When you get to the gym, you will always be glad you came and you will yet again be excited about the results you are going to get from it all.

When you train, you will be motivated to eat well too.

Now you’re on a roll again and you’re back in the groove of being successful again.

Habits are everything so don’t start neglecting them. Your habits will reward you constantly so put yourself first and keep doing the fundamentals really well!

Many trainers are in the business of exhausting their clients, more and more reps just for the sake of it, no plan, no purpose and definitely no progression. Don’t forget that anyone can stand there and try and destroy you with exercise, but it takes true skill and experience to build you up gradually, so you become a much better athlete.

Understanding proper programming, and making sure the individual you are training EXECUTES your programme is of paramount experience, and this is why you see me running around a lot, things HAVE to be done properly no matter what, and we have to get through certain workouts every week like it or not.

Results are vital, and there has to be a plan on how to get them.

The variety of exercises we use in with one purpose in mind, to make you a better athlete full stop!

Hopefully, the goal of the individuals I train is to look better, feel better, and feel stronger and healthier.

We are the opposite of places who train you like you have to be worn-out sore, and feel like they have been crushed. This will likely lead to injury, and over-stress your central nervous system which means your body will break down sooner rather than later.

You need to train hard, but to learn new skills too. You need to get your body to adapt to new movements, then get it to recover with good nutrition, so it’s ready to do those movements easier next time you do them.

Please don’t fall for the rubbish you need to exhaust yourself every time. If you are continually getting stronger, a little bit faster with more endurance, then you are in a great place and you are likely to see incredible results in a far more pleasant and more enjoyable way!

Confidence can be a two-way thing and can either work for you or against you.

You develop positivity and confidence usually by overcoming challenges, and discovering you can actually achieve more in your training and with your body than you ever thought.

You develop momentum by putting a string of workouts together, lose body fat, look better, feel so much better and soon enough it becomes an important part of your daily life.

You start lifting more, you become more agile, you become quicker and in general you start to move very well, sometimes better than ever before. Your confidence can quickly develop to an all-time high.

On the other side of the coin, events can conspire to make you lose your confidence.

An injury of some kind in daily life can happen out of the blue.

Work commitment can hinder your ability to make your sessions.

You may develop a short illness.

You may have negative people around you who don’t support your training and nutritional efforts.

All of these things can stop you hitting the gym as often as you would like. This leads to your gym sessions becoming harder because you become a little out of practice and you try to do the same things as when you were hitting regular good quality sessions. This is when motivation can suffer.

This is why a proper routine and programme becomes vital. You need to train regular and this is the only way to see consistently good results. Coming back strong after you recover from any setback can be tough, but regular sessions even when you don’t feel like some of them will make a dramatic difference to you mentally.

The other benefits are that the fitter you are and if you take your nutrition seriously, the stronger your immune system becomes and the more likely you are to have a strong sense of wellbeing.

This leads to a great sense of confidence because your body will be in a regular routine of looking after itself.

Living a daily healthy lifestyle makes everything work better for you, and gives your self-belief a massive boost at usually the times you need it most.
