What you put into your health, you get out. No magic formula. If you took a glass of wine, a cigarette and a doughnut and give it to your dog for breakfast, the dog would probably collapse and maybe die in short period of time.
But many people give exactly that to themselves. Most people spend more on their car every month to make them feel better than they do taking care of themselves.
If you don’t look after yourself, then how are you going to look after others nearest and dearest to you? How can you perform to a decent level in your job or business?
Maybe the moods you suffer from are due to you not really looking after yourself, due to the highs and lows of excess refined sugar you eat, and not getting enough exercise and fresh air?
We take it for granted that we can go 100 miles an hour without stopping, but the more we eat rubbish most of the time, the more our system is likely to stall and splutter.
The less we move/exercise, the more strain we put on our heart, the more our joints ache and the more we invite other serious disease over time.Put these two things together, and our whole system can collapse, and put our mental health well and truly on the floor, which can make us feel there’s no way out of the hole we have dug for ourselves.
If we do eat well 80% of the time, move more every day, then we are likely to feel much better, to be able to take part in life instead of sitting on the sidelines, and view life as a wonderful gift instead of something we often dread every day.
