Monday, August 5th

Time comes and goes, this is a story about sticking around, doing the right thing and trying to do your best, no matter who is doubting you, who is laughing at you, who doesn’t believe in a thing you do, and those who hope you never do something meaningful in your life.
9 years ago I took over the gym, after 20 years straight of working 14 hours a day doing one on one training (a career that 95% of people thought would never take off in the first place).
Not many people came to the gym, my dad had dementia and things were running down.
People would walk in and frequently say “am I the only one here”. A little embasrassed I would say yes but I was determinined to do the best for them.
Then a trickle started of referrals and the least fashionable place became a place where you could improve, you would be looked after, had an incredibly positive atmosphere full of great human beings, and you would do the right thing no matter what.
As the gym got busier, the pressure on my one on one training got so much I had to cut my hours down. Cutting hours from a busy business and training people for 20 years was hard, but I knew burry port was deep in my heart, and a lot of people needed serving better.
Instead of a relatively small number of people who could afford my training, I could hit the general public on a big scale on £30 a month which most people can afford and I could help them enormously with some care and attention.
I was determined to help every single person every session, and make us one of a kind gym that you could make radical improvements in day in day out.
To cut a very long story short, people with us started doing very well, and we usually are capable of putting at least one success story on a day on here, with many others not wanting to go on social media and these figures are always strong.
The land at the back of the gym you see busy today we first put in for with the council 16 years ago, and had to a wait further 13 years before they sorted out the problems with people trying to claim access to it, the council took them to court and then eventually sell it to us.
Most people told me to forget about the hassle along the way, the stress of it all but i’m glad to say it’s been clearly worth it.
We then put 300 tons of sub base and tarmac on it and thats what we all use for all the extensive stuff we do on it every day now.
I am very proud to say we are ready to make a significant further investment in the outside area of the gym, creating our dream scenario of activities and sports fitness training we always wanted to do, which will serve our community very well indeed.
There will be a further transformation outside of the gym within 8 weeks if everyone delivers on time and time is of the essence, this will happen.
I had years of feeling often I wasn’t getting anywhere, but kept a mindset that even one positive sign a week was getting us closer to where we wanted to be.
For those of you struggling to stick at something you care about, keep battling with tunnel vision, keep getting better at what you do, find a way to create more value for people, and cherish your daily opportunities to serve people incredibly well.
My family have supported me all the way, I am lucky for that, as well as the great team of coaches we are developing so well.
Always be the most enthusiastic person in the room, never let your head drop, always hang out with people who want you to succeed, and never quit as it’s always darkest right before dawn.

Reports are coming in thick and fast, I have had a surprising amount of you completing over 15 workouts a month, with a maximum of 21 workouts a month.

Guess what those members’ results are like? Sensational, incredible, mind-blowing, awesome and inspiring-those are the facts.

When I asked a few of you how you did it, the words determined and tunnel-vision come thick and fast. They also do our home video workouts when they can’t hit the gym.

Some of you may have trained with us before, had a break, then doubled down and come back with laser like focus and nothing was going to stop you down this time.

I take all the unnecessary distractions out of my life every week. Things like too many emails, I never go on WhatsApp groups, I cut my social media time down to work only more or less. THIS is when you have more time than you think to do WHAT REALLY COUNTS..

More of you walk now listening to books, so not only do you get a great workout but you fill your mind with fresh positive stuff all the time too, which sets you up to think better, think smarter and get much more out of your day.

We all have 168 hours a week, we all have responsibilities, some much more than others, but in that over 15 workouts a week equation, 70% of those have 2-3 children, 75% have physical ailments that cause them pain daily (but is now getting much better), and 60% of you completing lots of workouts rely on those sessions to keep on top of your mental health too, so a deep admiration from myself and I’m sure all of us.

Bottom line is that best performers this month are the ones who could make a TON of excuses but CHOOSE not to. The truth is there right in front of me.

August 1st, how many workouts you going for this month? Remember the success level starts big time on 10-12 a month. Start counting and the number will dictate your overall success by making yourself accountable.

What’s the best feeling?

Training regular, feeling great straight afterwards and generally having a great sense of wellbeing. Having incredible energy and increased self-esteem and self-confidence.

OR

You’re out of the game and training seems to be something in the distant past, you can’t seem to get motivated and you get used to feeling not so good thinking that’s how you “should feel as you get older”, feeling you can’t really get going and you best years may just be behind you.

Which one is the best one of these?

You are going through, gone through a major transformation, so many people tell you how great you are looking, and how it feels great to go and get clothes because you don’t have to wear anything baggy anymore, you have the choice of the whole shop and this may have been the first time in a long time or even ever.

OR You were once in good to great shape yourself, but one thing led to another and you got used to clothes feeling tighter, going up a size and suddenly having zero energy, along with big hits to your self-esteem and confidence.

THIS IS NOT A GO at anyone, it’s the conversations of real life situations I have more or less every day with people at both ends of the scale.

I care DEEPLY about every situation, and I want to tell you and give you so much hope that even from the most seemingly hopeless situations, truly great stories can be told and lives have been amazingly changed by consistent efforts, people who show up ALL THE TIME, people who never quit no matter what, and end up thriving on the “impossible” challenges that once faced them.

Pick your situation, what you really want, and your physical efforts and mental toughness will determine where you end up. You are in the perfect place for incredible support.

Tuesday, 30th July

I tend to make better decisions when I’m full of energy, I tend to write more, I make more stuff full stop that helps the gym and helps you.

Having a go attitudes only happen when you are exercising and eating right.

Laying down and surrendering attitudes happen when you eat rubbish and can’t be bothered to get off the settee and never seeing the inside of the gym.

Lost mojos are never lost behind the settee for you to find by magic. Mojos are only mysteriously found again when you actually move your body, and adding movement to your life will explode your mind into wanting to do meaningful things in life again.

Your decisions shape your day, look after your week and will give your future a definitive positive direction.

Your future success and happiness all depends how you start your day and how you much you are willing to win it.

Whatever your situation, however good or however much of a struggle, it will only get better by keeping moving. Nobody ever built a strong body and mind on the settee or talking a good game.

You build your future by surrounding yourself with people who support you do attempt more, to persuade you to keep going when you thing all may be lost and being around those who can see a better, more fulfilling and exciting life for you even if you can’t right now.

Keep going, don’t give up, its always darkest before dawn.

Monday, 29th July

The new programme is a huge success for most of you because you have a secret weapon that makes life easier for you.

Most of a space rocket’s energy is getting off the ground in the first place, in fact a high percentage of fuel is used for the big lift-off. Then after rising so far it develops its own momentum and the bulk of the journey into space is self-propelled and there is little strain on the rocket.

This current programme in my book is our toughest and most-demanding. So you would think most of you would be in trouble with it?

The facts are that we had an enormous amount of success stories friday and today, each of you reaching new heights and your bodies will benefit immensely from the new range of challenges.

The problem comes if you stop/start your training for whatever reason. Starting a new programme is often like starting from scratch, and enormous discomfort can enter your body once again.

Once discomfort comes, then doubt comes too into your mind. You wonder if you still have it, you wonder if age is against you etc, when this is total rubbish because members prove this wrong each and every day.

Your body does not like stopping and starting and you have to realise you need to keep going no matter not only to achieve great things, but to make life so much easier for yourself too in the process.

Stay in the zone by showing up no matter what three times a week. You are in control of your future and present if you make exercise and eating right your absolute priority.
