Monday, November 26th

I had piano lessons as a kid, I hated going and I never practiced. My brother was very good but I was never into it. I wanted to quit all the time, and eventually I did. I thought I would do something else but it never did.

The discipline of going every Friday though was good, but I quit.

Then I ended up in the snooker hall, it was all too easy to end up there and idle that hour or three away. I got better at snooker but I needed something else. My father never let me stop coming to the gym 3 times a week.

There were many times I didn’t feel like it, but that discipline shaped my life and helped me enormously looking back at it.

The discipline of training should be the same for you and please have a long hard think about it, just like I did. If you are committed, you will be with us 3 times a week minimum.

Once you quit, then you end up doing nothing much. You end up eating more rubbish, drinking more, watching way more TV and your self-discipline collapses.

Don’t pretend you will be doing something else better for your body because its not so easy as that. Once you lose your discipline of training, life can be a slippery slope both physically and MENTALLY.

Remember, the way you do one thing is the way you do everything.

Are you telling yourself a “story” on why you can’t be great physically and mentally?

Or are you going tell yourself the truth, knuckle down, get the discipline back in your life, not be one of the crowd who quits at anything anymore and commit yourself to a better life in all ways?

Most of the time, fear puts us off attempting things we secretly want no matter how many times we won’t admit it.

It’s easy to be put off anything too. “it wasn’t that good anyway”, “it wasn’t worth the hard work”, “it wasn’t worth the time and effort”, “it wasn’t worth the risk”, “you wouldn’t have been happy anyway”, “everyone puts on loads of weight as they age anyway” some people will lie to you and feed you these ready made excuses to make themselves feel better.

If you show and give it everything in the gym, eat right and do it often, you have no regrets, you couldn’t have done anymore. There will be no anxiety, no could have been’s, no “what if’s”.

THIS is the guaranteed way to get get progress and BE HAPPY full stop.

Compare that if you aren’t willing to give it everything for the next 4 weeks. Anxiety and doubt returns, you may spend lots of christmas clothes but you know they don’t feel right.

If you are in shape you will look great in ANY clothes size, you will look great in a sack, its the truth and has to be said.

Someone had better make you accountable because if I don’t, it means I don’t give a damn and that’s NOT going to happen.

Many of you are on course to have all time best year’s. some of you though could do with a reality check. The reality check you need to make your food from scratch instead of relying on petrol stations and convenience stores for lunch and snacks.

The reality check of you not feeling incredible like you did before because you aren’t showing up anywhere near as often and calling in for a Chinese and bottle on wine instead.

The reality check of you not feeling so good INSIDE, which matters most of all. Be honest with yourself, don’t hide behind the christmas mask of everything is “ok” and after Christmas everything will be “alright” again.

You have the opportunity to do great things again, don’t lie to yourself and roll up your sleeves, get down here and work like you’ve never done before starting tomorrow.

Respect comes from DOING the work, and often doing it when nobody is watching.

In this world where many seem to put everything on social media for likes, the true moments that you really advance in life is when you do the right thing at the right time and keep doing it without fail.

How do you motivate yourself to get out and train on a day like this when its a gale force wind and its freezing?

You just DO IT because the sense of achievement comes AFTER your workout, and not before. Often hard to do at first but this is why you need to develop this as a habit.

When you keep on DOING for so long that you don’t mind doing it and it becomes part of your daily life, then your life changes seemingly without so much effort.

As you get older, you get more aware of your mortality, how fragile life is and how long you may live yourself.

This is why what you put into your body becomes life-changing in terms of food and drink.

It becomes life-changing when you commit to exercise for life, you change the way your body feels, looks and operates if you exercise most days.

If you exercise most days, you have better mental health, you feel better full stop and stress gets smashed down just as its about to threaten you well-being.

If you are regular exerciser and made the change for life, then you have respect off me, respect off those closest to you and you are building your OWN self-respect every day which is most important.
