I still train people in all weathers, and one relentless question I have is “how do you and the people you train stay motivated and motivate others when it’s raining so much, it’s so cold, and it’s dark on top of all of that?!!!”.
I tell them I stopped worrying about the weather a long time ago, it’s often bleak and awful weather in Wales in this country 9 months a year anyway, and it doesn’t matter what’s going on outside of us, what matters is what’s on the INSIDE and we can create how we feel from there.
What matters is our drive, optimism and enthusiasm, our true deep down reason for exercising and being healthy, the great positive effects on our mental health, our wellbeing and our sense of achievement when we finish, it comes from the INSIDE and we create the way we feel ourselves.
Ignore the noise from the outside, everything you need is INSIDE of you, whether it’s a big storm outside or it’s 80 degrees, be relentless and do the work, you are much stronger than you ever imagined.
