Never short of workouts

You really do have several workouts available this weekend.

All these posts are designed to get rid of any excuses you may have left in your cupboard!

So we have gone over inside workouts this week, you can do them in ANY weather, there are no snow storms in your living room or spare room? It is not too cold or wet either in your living room and you can even have music on in the background! This is a workout you can do ANY time, so if you have an excuse, you know its not possible for me to believe you!!!

What about your outside workouts?

Are you going to get out there and do them? Or are you going to put on your dressing gown at 6pm in the evening and drink a bottle of wine a night, a takeway most nights or the biggest bar of chocolate its humanly possibly to eat? Lots of people really do live their lives like this, and need rescuing from themselves and need to be introduced to an active lifestyle, it really will change your life and make you far more optimistic for the future!!!

If its cold inside, get out there and do your workouts outside, you will soon get warm, you will soon get some adrenalin through your vains and pretty soon you will be invigorated to go and do something!!! I bet you when you get back inside, you will switch the heating off and wonder how you felt it cold in the first place!!! Staying indoors all weekend and complaining its “cold” doesnt wash either, it really doesnt, and sometimes you need to shake yourself to get out of this vicious circle of feeling sorry for yourself.

Theres a million things you can do this weekend, and getting out there and being active is guaranteed to make you feel better, give you more self-confidence in your abilities and really set the tone for all weekends coming up to christmas!!!

For starters i would look at it this weekend for walking up and down some very challenging terrain but with great scenery. These place include pembrey country park, burry port beach, burry port harbour, sandy water park, mumbles promenade, mumbles mountain, beaches-langland, caswell, llangennith, rhosilli, swiss valley reservoir, millennium coastal path, any cycle path!, burry port park, and there are about a million other places i could list right now for you to try out but i think the above list is enough to get you started!!!!

I know many of you will know more “secret” places so please try them all out, it makes life far more interested if you try different and fresher venues!!

No time to waste in shops the weekend, get out and there and do something that will get your blood going again!!!

  1. nothing going to be done by me this weekend.I had a back spasm last Sat and its still niggling a bit.Pi**ed off to say the least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! been rubbing Lavender and all my concoxions to help it.Thing is Liz said you cant moan apart from the odd twinge this is the worst i’ve had in about 3 yrs and since i’ve used the bike its helped me out a hell of a lot.Still hate it though just when i upped my workouts to :-(………drove me crazy this week with out doing anything apart from a few streches and back exercises……..

  2. at least you will be dying to get back on that bike when you feel right again, nothing more frustrating than injuries!!!

  3. Sorry to hear your injured Cyril, what a bitch, nothing worse you just have to be patient. I upped my workout yesterday, did an indoor workout, sooo different to what I have been doing. Even tho I have been cycling, jogging and walking, when I did the ndoor workout it was sooo much harder. Know now I NEEDED to up my workouts, thought I was getting fit by doing what I was doing, no way. I did 3 circuits as follows,
    Hypers 10 x 10 x10
    Squats 25 x 25 x25
    Press ups 25 x 25 x 25
    dips 25 x 25 x 25
    Alt squat thrusts 50 x 50 x 50
    Abs 50 x 50 x 50
    Step 50 x 50 x 50

    times per circuit 5.45, 5.25, 5.34

    It was really hard, could hardly breath, my Peak flow after was only between 190 – 220, so dont know what it was be4 I started. All worth it tho I have LOST 2lbs, next week I should be under 13st. I did 40mins this morning 14min walk, 10min jog 16min walk home, got a soaking, didnt go mad last night, everyother drink a SOFT drink, worth it this morning. Enjoy the weekend. x

  4. excellent effort and sounds really intense which is good. Major progress is happening for you so lets keep your training records up and look to improve on them.

    Saw terry arnold last night, he was talking about the old days, quite funny and interesting at times, how he lost interest in his gym and how he wanted to do other things instead.

    Hes working in london and has been for many years at the airport, and thinking about getting back into acting, and eventually retiring in thailand maybe. Never a dull moment with him and barry lane together!! All good fun, barry has glasses now and the eye patch has gone!

  5. well managed to get in the pool today 🙂 first time in yonks.Had a good 1hr of over arm and breatstroke swimming(40lengths of a 25mtr pool) and some treading water for a spell.I felt very heavy when i got out.Wondered what the bloody hell was going on lol,lol,lol.

  6. Terry always good to talk to, nice bloke and good luck to him in his acting career, only ever seen him as an extra. Cant imagine Barry with glasses, the eye patch was sexy. The other things must have been working in the airport, he has been there a long time, should have kept the Gym, at least he would b his own boss.

  7. he told me he was thinking of turning the gym into 4 flats because he wasnt earning money towards the end, but sold it and never made money, as he had to pay back the bank. dont think he does anything apart from extras but cant knock him for having a go.barry is always great fun and has 2 kids now again from his wife from thailand. good luck to them both

  8. I agree, Life is way too short, you have to grab it by the throat. So Barry has a Second Hatch, that’s what keeps him young. I remember the plan was to turn it into flats, he said he wasnt making money on the gym, but it was always full and I mean full, and his brother FLICK and family did the building to save money. My personal view is that he just lost interest and found it hard being there day in day out, he often paid someone else to be there in the end, itchy feet. Crappy day Ke, goin to take the mutt over the beach and do a run at the same time, goin to UP my level today, must be time cos the indoor workouts are harder than a run, and that cant be right.
