I’m was a rubbish surfer, I struggle to stand up on the board, and I’ve been slammed into the ground more times than you could imagine.

My ego is prepared to have a slamming every time because I’m prepared for failure to learn. I like going surfing when there’s not many people around, because I can then make mistakes with no expectations and in the hope of finally nailing it one day.

The trick is to stay in motion until I get good. I have to keep trying or I will never make it.

I love going on body boards more, I’m not much good on them either, but I have a lot of fun on them, I experience exhilaration and deep feelings of being on top of the world once I do it, and I come out of the water feeling incredible.

The “movement” part is the key part of this, and the more I move the better I feel.

With workouts in the gym, you may not feel incredible all the time, you will have many failures as you learn new things, things don’t always go your way and sometimes you wonder whether you will ever master some tough exercise, but with practice all of a sudden you do, as long as you keep moving, as long as you keep trying.

Deep feelings of exhilaration will be achieved through exercise in the gym too, you may be used to those great feelings right now because you are a regular trainer, but if you stop, that feeling of wellbeing can soon go, as many of you know.

Moving every day is the key to you feeling better physically, the key to you feeling on top of the world mentally and the key to you feeling like an 18 year old your whole life.

Keep trying, keep failing, keep getting back up, and enjoy the greatest ride of your life because it never has to stop.
