Staying on course

So how’s it all going? Have you managed to stay on course, and if you have, does it feel better? Have you avoided getting blitzed in the Christmas party? Have you managed to train the day after consuming all those goodies?

Have you hidden behind the excuse of “I have no time”? What about training before work, even one set of everything will make a difference, anything is better than not doing a thing? What doing even something means is that you are still keeping your hand in, you are still keeping your metabolism going, you are still helping your mood stay high even with the upcoming or ongoing stresses, you are still in the “game” of exercise, and that means you are not going to give in that easily.

I started a workplace class off today in Llantrisant, and the great thing about it, they were all keen to get going as they were either new to exercise, or hadn’t exercised for a long time. There’s nothing like that enthusiasm of getting going for the first time, and real sense of excitement and wonder of how exactly how far you can take yourself. This is one example of a group determined not to slip back over Christmas, and I actually think they will improve, and hit the ground running in 2010, which is always a great situation.

Your choice, you either collapse under all the rubbish food and booze, or you still have a bit of what you fancy, put some good food in there too, and get a couple of fresh air workouts in and really feel energised about the big start to the new year!

  2. great to hear from you again cyril, we rely on you to keep us fired up on here!! Going to very cold the next few days, if you even commit yourself to doing 10-15 exercise per day, you will benefit hugely, and i bet you stay oyut for longer!!

  3. Be patient Cyril, at this time of year it is very hard to stay motivated, but the way I’m thinking, I will b happy just to maintain my weight until the weather gets better, and I can start running. Same here, ,busy with xmas decorating and shopping, going out with the girls for xmas meal and drink later in the week. Would’nt STRESS too much, will all work out when we get our routine back. Just try and exercise some MODERATION. Hope ur xmas is great. jean

  5. Hi Cyril, Glad to c your happy smiling face, up there. How far did you go? I love the ache, u know when you get off the bike and your legs turn to jelly, Know then that u were out of your comfort zone. Well done. My mum came yesterday, and u know how I told her not to buy me THORNTONS or any other chocolates, well she brought me a home made BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING and a home made blackberry tart. I said what this mam, and she said , “well you told me not to buy u chocolate”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bless! Just had my hair cut and styled with my son, feel like a new woman. Think your eating should be the other way around, eating more in the day and less in the evening, and not too late at night, Keri will advise you. Jean

  6. hi jean, yeah i was eating small and lots of times in the day about 1 every 3hrs or so even if it was just a pear or something.i was doing great until my daughter was ill and my eating clock went out the window, went back to my old ways of not eating much so i was bloating out again.the ride is about 5.5 miles from start to Finnish and a very good but steady incline all the way to the top :-).I only did it on the weekend last week cos i could leave my daughter alone 🙁 ..,,..just waiting for the veg to cook now and we’ll be having fish, parsley sauce and about 5 diff frozen veg,yum,yum.. 🙂

  7. Hi Folks,
Had mega wkend away. Not much excercise apart from walking around shops!
Was careful but not prissy about food. Enjoyed SEVERAL drinks but had vodka and diet
coke not Bow. Braved scales today and stayed the same. Delighted. Goes to show if you
are sensible you can still enjoy a blow out. Been the mentality all my adult life. If I went off
the “diet” or didn’t excercise I went over the top and ended up gaining pounds which turned
into stones. I am more positive this side of Christmas than I have been in years. It is thanks
to Keri and this great communication that I am in this poition.
Thanks guys, lets keep it going.

    Debx
