Thurs Nov 5th

There are stark differences between when we do exercise at a certain level and when we do not.

My garage door key wasn’t available monday morning and had been mislaid. My bikes were in the garage so couldn’t get in there. Three days of no cycling and today the garage door key shows up and I was relieved to be able to cycle today.

Even 3 days off the bike made me a little tired now and I felt the cold much more than normal, coupled with doing the last cut of the year on the lawn.

This shows that staying in our workout schedule is much easier than doing things randomly, and suddenly increasing our workload, and our body reacts best when we STAY in routine.

I do know though that after today I WILL get used to the cold on the bike again, and by tomorrow I will get to yearn to the up and back bike journeys to the gym I do every day, and with it increased energy and drive.

Doing less may seem easier for now, but longer term creates more physical problems and challenges for us and often a tiredness we are not used to.

November is cold, dark and often wet but it’s never been more important to stay in our schedule, love the routine’s we create for ourselves, and the huge benefits those workouts done often give us in our lives.
