Ignoring one side of our body because it’s weaker or hurts more is not a good strategy.
One side is usually weaker because we rely or prefer one side of our body. As kids we kick or throw with one side, we sleep on one side more and we tend to prefer to step up on one side too.
As we age, that overworking on one side begins to add up.
This is why we put an enormous emphasis on one sided work, dumbbells mostly instead of bars, one leg instead of two legs, avoiding as many machines as possible so every muscle and every angle of our body can actually “feel’ the movement.
Repetitive work on our preferred side causes problems. Becoming strong on our weak side ought to become a priority, see it as “nothing wrong” with you, see it more as a lifelong preference that needs to be balanced back out.
