Numerous studies showed from even 40-50 years ago, it was thought that if you were “creative” and thought a bit outside the box, and had success with that thinking, you were the 1% of the population.

The rest of us back then were told to “stay in our lane”, “fall in line” and “follow the leader” even if that leader that was in charge of you was often making it up as they go along and not very capable themselves..

The reality is ALL of us are creative, and fast forward 40 years and so many more of us are forging our own path, doing our own thing and often sticking two fingers up at the people who didn’t give us a chance of succeeding at anything-in fact those naysayers have often become the fuel to those who of us determined to keep upsetting the status quo, and creating a different reality where only the truth matters every day and creative a healthier, more active and more fulfilling life for others by doing the right things that can literally change lives..

The problem is we need to tap into that creative streak we ALL have, and numerous studies show that when we exercise, chemicals are released into our brains automatically putting us in a completely different mindset, when our most creative thoughts and ideas come to the forefront of our minds.

This is also our most powerful weapon mentally this time of year when it’s raining continuously, it’s dark, cold and generally miserable.

If we reach our creative states more often simply by moving more and  getting a sweat on, then we automatically win the mindset battle that typically goes on November to March, that also coincides with the SAD (seasonal affective disorder) syndrome coming to its yearly prominence and most destructive time for so many.

Much is made of exercise “losing weight”, “looking better” etc, but the most powerful aspect I often see in individuals is awakening mentally again, realising how creative they really are and with that comes self-belief, self-confidence and a sense their best days are really ahead of them, after maybe many years of possibly thinking that getting fit and healthy was something “other people did”.

There’s never been a better time of year to get your mind right.
