Monday, 11th November

We are into mid-november, a time of great doubt and surrender for many. The light is limited, it’s getting a lot colder and everything is dying off.

Most people think a different way, they tell you to slow down, they tell you it will be okay after Christmas and they tell want to tell you that because it makes THEM feel better. Their lack of action should never fool you and drag down your own standards.

This is one of my favourite times because it offers me opportunity. Once everyone else is slacking off, i tend to UP my work rate and see where it takes me.

You can easily turn the next 6 weeks into one of great opportunity and a small sacrifice of time 3 times a week can push your health and wellbeing into unchartered territory, up to you if you want to grab it with both hands.

One of the big areas we are working on this year when it’s dark is outside. I played on our area around the back of the gym all weekend, and my kids loved it.

There should be 7 more lights there in a week’s time, on posts providing by Alan Jones and Star Forge, giving us a great area fully lit up providing unrivalled opportunity for everyone who uses it.

As sport is often called off due to the horrendous weather, we are still having great fun knocking  ball around, the kids are loving and they are still increasing their skills and familiarity around sport.

Lee Stone tells me the advantage Spain have in football, due to the weather and their pitches never get waterlogged. As long as we KEEP playing, even if it’s a bit colder, what advantage have they really got? Opportunity exists.

I can’t wait for the basketball posts, netball posts and football posts. I can’t wait the rig please with everything on it including the monkey bars. It will be fun time EVERY day.

In this darkest of times of light and weather, a great vision has come, a great vision of hope, opportunity and possibility that we have never had before.

The next 6 weeks are ones I’m going to seize with all my heart and power, are you going to join me and take yourself to brand new incredible levels of strength, endurance and positivity?

We are either getting better or we are falling back, what’s your choice going to be?

Wednesday, November 6th

Here’s something to remember and it happens every year. It’s November 6th and we are still going strong, the weather doesn’t matter, its cold, often wet but it makes no difference to many of you.

Left the gym tonight and it was still full of people wanting to give it everything and become the best they could be. THIS makes me very proud.

I know some of you struggle with the dark nights, and you find it hard to leave the house, but my message is WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU, encourage you, coach you, develop you, make you part of our family and above all make you feel better for all your efforts.

We are proud not to be a “January gym” where loads of people start and quit by February. We encourage true lifestyle change, making exercise part of your everyday life, and stressing how looking after yourself physically can make you super powerful mentally and much happier too.

November is just as important as January, and every day is an event for us, every day is a gift to us by your presence and we appreciate the opportunities we get to coach you, and make you believe you are capable of wonderful things.

You may complain its cold outside walking or driving to the gym, but give it 5 minutes inside and you will soon warm up your body, ignite fresh ambition in your mind and feel fantastic once you leave having put in another incredible session in.

It’s November 7th tomorrow, are you being all you can be?

Tuesday, 5th November

What price are you willing to pay for not exercising?
What price are you willing to pay for eating ready meals, fast food and alcohol most days, because there is a price. Don’t let anyone fool you.
How do I know? Because I have trained a LOT of people and seen the heartbreak when people do not change their lifestyles, and they think they are somehow the “lucky ones”.
There’s a price to be paid for everything. You get plenty of health in the bank when you put the effort in regular, pay the price of lifting iron, pay the price of pushing yourself when you didn’t even want to, when you pay the price of not eating a takeaway when everyone else is stuffing theirs on a Tuesday evening.
What you give you GET in return and you will be very proud of yourself.
When you are spectator in life, you will not receive any benefits. You think you are playing it safe but you are playing the most dangerous game. Your body not moving regular means it is deteriorating, you are either moving forward or falling backwards into pain, low energy and wild mood swings.
Most of you have two arms, two legs and a brain that is capable of doing incredible things. If you take action every day, you WILL be happier, you will be healthier, you will be proud of who you are and you will be able to help those closest to you and you will be totally unselfish because you will never be a burden to others.
Some harsh words there but I see the big picture every day, I see happiness and I see sadness, I see hope and those who have given up on themselves.
What choices will you make? If just ONE person who reads this changes their lifestyle because of this, then this post will be a great victory for me and the person who decides to change their lives.

Monday, 4th November

Putting your body under the stress of a weight/kettlebell/bar is exactly what you need today.

The weekend for most is the time of least stress. Then the week starts, and things start to hit you from one side, then the other.

Unless you are prepared, you can quickly become overwhelmed and feel helpless under the stress of everyday life.

Our workouts are designed to hit every angle, in NEW ways all the time.

Facts are that if you do the same old exercises, your body will become used to them, and some of your progress will slow down.

When you change your programme regularly, however uncomfortable that may seem, you are setting your body up to be more resilient and ready for any future challenges to come.

Your body can think better and adapt more quickly once it becomes used to different stress from all sorts of different situations.

Your exercise programme has a direct link to your brain, and how it reacts to life.

You get a natural high from exercise, and this explains why you always leave the gym feeling way better than when you walked in.

With a regular change in programme you are training your brain to also expect a regular change in life situation and often tough challenges to come.

When we try new things, we often are not any good at them for the first few times. With practice though, we adapt and we master the new moves.

Get our physical body right and our brain will be trained to expect whatever life throws at us, and come back with a hard and fast response, giving those challenges a sign that we never give in, and we will beat everything that is thrown at us.

Monday is a day to put your marker down, get stronger and set your stall out for the rest of the week.

Win your day today on Monday, and the rest of the week will only have positive momentum behind it making you strong and more powerful to enjoy whatever comes with it.
