When you look back at your life, the moments you will be most proud of will likely be the ones where you stepped out of your comfort zone in the pursuit of something you believed in.

Don’t allow the lull of comfort to stop you getting what you really want.

If you don’t go for it this time, then you will keep putting it off until it’s so far at the back of your mind you never get it done.

Allow yourself to dream big, to set big goals, and focus on things that really stretch you.

It’s never too late. Each day is an opportunity to start again, to move in a new direction or confirm the good direction you are already on.

If you’re honest with yourself, you will know where you are playing it safe and where you could do better or improve upon.

You can’t choose safety when you are trying to get the best out of yourself every day.

You can’t pursue greatness AND comfort at the same time.

Step out of your comfort zone in set some goals to get there. It’s all about growing as a person too.

A good strategy is to tell a close friend of a goal you really want to achieve, and tell them to check in on you regularly to see how you are getting on.

Do the same for them so you can both keep a focus and work towards something together.

Make sure you both celebrate the goals when you get there!!

Once you first start training, usually you will start improving and you begin the process of getting used to exercising and eating healthy.

Then you start to develop some momentum, and your body starts changing for the better and you start to feel a whole lot better too.

There is no real reason why you shouldn’t continue to improve either, but some things in life come up from time to time and some of you will get distracted and take some time off.

Here’s some research for you-for EVERY week you take off from training, it will take you ONE TO TWO weeks to get back to where you WERE. These studies were done on pro athletes, so these are used to training!

So not only will it take you a while to get you back into it, that great feeling of exercising and eating right that you have developed will take a while to feel again too.

The key here is not to take the breaks if you can help it.

Even 30 minutes of exercise will be beneficial instead of skipping it altogether, make that ten minutes even-just moving more helps!!

Many of you go through stressful times, that’s life, but exercising will help with those stress levels, keep your levels of wellbeing high and stop you going through the pain of getting back into it again!!!

The tough times will become good times again, just stick with your programme and make it work at all times for you.

Great question today about which ONE exercise is best for core?

The best answer I always give to that question is that there isn’t just one exercise, it’s EVERYTHING IN YOUR PROGRAMME that will give you your best and strongest core.

We do everything for a reason, and all we do is aimed at getting your waist down, your hips down but not only that. You need to be much stronger with your core too because it’s the central source of power for your body, and where all your strength comes from too.

You work hard on your weights and your core is a prime mover on every exercise. As you lift more, your core gets stronger.

You put a lot of exercises in on the TRX, vipr, Bulgarian bag and your core takes a pounding. All of those movements require so much strength and power.

Your medicine ball work requires you to be a certain level on core strength before you even attempt it. Steadily increasing your tolerance to medicine ball exercise is critical for your overall development.

Think of the tyres outside, the sledgehammer, the prowler-all are massive power movements that hit your things, hamstrings, hips, stomach, back-all that are vital in making up your core.

When you run, when you sprint through our ladders, cones, hurdles etc, your core is on fire.

The workouts we do on the grass are absolutely massive for core as most of you will know, getting to work deeper into your muscles than ever before.

So the bottom line is that EVERYTHING works for you and a stronger core will make you look, perform and feel at your very best, so keep hitting it from all angles!!

Your habits shape what you feel like, what you look like, what ambitions you have, how much energy you have, how positive you are, how hard you want to work, how much you’re going to develop-just about everything.

No one workout is going to give you everything you need.

No workout will make you a super athlete.

It’s the culmination of many workouts done over a substantial period of time that will make the big difference-don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Start missing workouts and the results will slow down and eventually come to a standstill.

Everything will start to become much harder when you do show up for your workouts and motivation will wane.

Same with your food. Start eating badly and skipping your good meal habits and you’re going to have poor workouts, your measurements will struggle that much more and guess what? Your motivation will disappear.

I always say that the most important workouts are the ones you may not feel like making, but you do anyway. When you get to the gym, you will always be glad you came and you will yet again be excited about the results you are going to get from it all.

When you train, you will be motivated to eat well too.

Now you’re on a roll again and you’re back in the groove of being successful again.

Habits are everything so don’t start neglecting them. Your habits will reward you constantly so put yourself first and keep doing the fundamentals really well!

Wednesday, 4th February

Today signifies the start of the year again for us in outside workout terms.

We got outside in a proper today, the sun was shining, but we got to do everything we usually do, and many of you were new to it today and hopefully enjoyed it.

It’s always good mixing it up, and the aim is always to make you good at everything, and be prepared for anything.

When you are a good runner, when you are developing your speed and agility well, when you become good at weights, when your balance is improving rapidly, when your endurance is ever increasing-then you know your fitness is where it should be and it easily translates into general life too.

Your energy levels should be having a huge uplift too.

There’s no point in trying to get fit and not feeling full of energy in general life too.
After all of that work today, you need to keep putting good food in to help you recover much better because you’re going to need it.

So from now on until December we are likely to be mixing it much more as usual, and although hard at first, you will soon get used to it and be able to deliver even more results in your monthly measurements!!
