In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. I am proud to see so many of you inspiring others at the gym, we have so many now that it makes my job a lot simpler.

Becoming a leader is not becoming the person who shouts the loudest, shows off the most or throws his/her weight around. It is the person who leads by example, picks individuals off the floor who are emotionally spent, its the person who has very often been down the bottom themselves, often many times, and is well aware of how hard the journey out that deep hole is.

They will also realise what it feels like to come out of that hole, how it feels to make themselves a success again in their chosen field in life, and anyone who has been through that challenging journey will usually want to give back and help as many others as they can who need to help to believe in themselves again.

It’s vital to get everyone to finally believe that it really is up to THEMSELVES what they accomplish, it really is. You should never a accept an outcome that SOMEONE ELSE prescribes for you.

You should never listen to any critics, don’t pay attention to any apparent reason on why you can’t achieve your goals, concentrate on your strengths and not your weaknesses, it really is YOUR call.

Many people will tell you that achieving big things is impossible, all YOU need to remember is that the so called “impossible” just takes a little longer.

What i find is that many people have preconceived ideas of how you should do it when you want to get fit and healthy. The idea that you just walk/run on treadmill, maybe hit a couple of machines, and even worse never shown how to do it properly, is a thing of the past, it should never exist now. There are so many more options that are far more attractive, more fun and most importantly backed up by science.

When someone shows you things things you thought impossible, your view of exercise soon brightens up and you soon realise that your possibilities are endless, and all of sudden you are shown horizons you didn’t know existed.

The word inspire means to “breathe life into”. When we breathe life into another, we inspire their hopes, goals and dreams. That’s what we should all be doing whenever we get the chance!

Losing confidence in yourself and then in your training is very easily done.

I have trained many, many individuals in business over the years, many seem super-confident, the reality is that they have just as much self-doubt as all of us, and often question whether they are good enough to deserve any success, sometimes “self-sabotage” when things are going almost “too good” and in general, have the same worries, confidence issues, self-esteem issues, self-worth issues as all of us.

Here’s what i notice all the time. If you don’t exercise almost on a daily basis, you WILL NOT feel as good, you wont have the energy to perform as well as you would like, you won’t have the sense of well-being that we really need, and when you don’t feel good, a downward spiral starts to happen. That ride down is no fun for anyone!

Privately, and you all know that i never reveal any of your business, most of you have revealed moments of doubt and pain, wondering whether you can still achieve big anymore, can you really put the effort in required to be fit and healthy anymore, are you too told, too big, too timid-ALL of those things!

Some of our most successful transformations have been the most bumpiest. They have involved tears and sometimes shouting matches, sometimes quiet whispers and gentle words in order to get them back on track. I go through this regularly and this is why i know exactly why carrying on and climbing back up that mountain is super important for every area of your life!!!

Here’s what i know, and i have been doing this a LONG time so i’m qualified to have a very strong opinion. Your mindset and a STRONG mindset starts with exercise and eating right, it REALLY does, it never goes away from this!!!

Get these parts right, the 10,000 piece jigsaw of happiness and health will get solved MUCH quicker and with FAR less emotional drama that always happens when you change your shape relatively quicker, you start thinking differently and the demands of that can be emotionally very demanding, as well as physically of course.

I’m here to talk it through, to lift you up if you are down, and for you to finally be proud of yourself with the incredible achievements that are just about to happen for you!!!

Raise the bar

The very fact that you are individual makes you different in the way you do things, the way you approach things and the way you think about things. You should celebrate this fact!!!

Who wants to be bland and not make an impact on anything? I certainly don’t and you shouldn’t either!!!

Just because you may not be as strong as others, don’t worry about it. Chances are that if you STICK at it, you soon will and will pass many people along the way!

It’s time to get outside season. If you don’t fancy the ladders because you don’t think you’re not any good at it, then just plug away at it, keep learning the technique, i’d put money on it that EVERY time you practice it, you WILL get a little better. Give it a month, and just watch how great you become on it, i have seen this endless times so let’s start to think big!!!

We are a different gym and celebrate that. We don’t want to be like anyone else, we want to do it our way and celebrate the completely different array of personalities and abilities we have too. This is what makes it fun, why we all support each other and ultimately why we can all learn from each other.

Each and every one of you has the option to be great at every single area of training we do. That is entirely within your power, just give it enough practice and you will become good, that i can guarantee you.

Celebrate the fact that you came into the gym with no speed, and now you have it!!

Celebrate you had no strength to start with, now you are strong as an ox!!

Celebrate you may have had low self-esteem to start with, no confidence or self-belief. Now look at the changes and the big upside on all of these that are happening right now!!!!
Everyone is completely different, celebrate it and we love having the challenge of changing all of you, no matter what your level is, what your ability is right now, and how great you all want to become!!! Come on, be different and excel in your training and become the best you can possibly be………….and then raise the bar yet again!!!!

Monday, 22nd February

The hardest part of being successful at anything is CONSISTENCY. This separates the ones that are continually successful and get to achieve what they set out to do, and those who flounder every time.
New year has long gone, and filling in your weekly goal sheet again may be the best thing you do over the next 24 hours (just been sent out).

Your mind will make you succeed and triumph, or make you quit and fold like a pack of cards, and blame yourself that somehow you weren’t “good enough” for whatever reason.

Decide to make this week another strong one, as it’s totally within your power. Whether you’re running a marathon or you want to recover from a lifetime of ill health, you have to keep making the right decisions that are going to take you closer to your goals.

No time to moan that monday morning is coming, as it’s the most vital workout of the week to set the tone for the rest of the week. Set your standards high, fight through the fog that appears from time to time, and CHOOSE to hit it harder than you’ve ever done before!

Tuesday, 16th February

Going “all in” means total commitment. Going all in means you are likely to achieve what you put your mind to if you give it enough time, and you do something positive each and every day to bring you closer to your goals.

“All in” isn’t something you do “sometimes”, or something you do when you just “feel like it”.

You need to jump in with all your heart if you really want to accomplish your best work. If you take 5 axe swings every day at a tree, no matter how big, tough or stubborn the tree is, then the tree will always fall eventually. If you take 5 positive actions every day, then sure enough you will achieve exactly what you set out to do, and usually a lot more!

You need to get into a mindset that it’s impossible to fail, that as long as you take enough action consistently every day, then nothing is beyond your grasp.
Once you get into this mindset, it will break any feeling of not wanting to do anything or frustration you may have that you’re not accomplishing what you really want.

If you get into a mindset of throwing yourself into your programme, then opportunities will open up for you to do even more, your body and brain will accommodate your efforts and recognise you are constantly aiming to get better and better.

Progress is achieved one step at a time. First one is getting yourself on a programme. Then you learn it. Then you get used to it and then you thrive on it.

Our motto is that you always move forward with your exercise programme, you always need to be tested in a different way, you always need to find new ways of strengthening your weaknesses, and a new challenge every day keeps your mind fresh, and tells your body it needs to constantly adapt.

This way progress becomes a daily part of your life, and it becomes impossible to fail because you’re finally giving it everything you’ve got!!
