Getting it?

Okay, a big welcome back to cyril, who has obviously been very busy, but has fallen off some of his excellent habits. Doing the stuff in the garden though remains a very tough job which burns lots of calories and works different muscles so well done on that cyril.

The facts don’t change when you want to keep measuring your progress and keeping yourself on an even keel, or even progressing.

So if im looking at my week, i look at it and ask myself have i done my all over weights workout twice a week?

I then look have a done some cardiovascular work and for me that includes cycling and running, for you it may include walking, swimming or anything that gets your heart rate up for an extended period.

I then look at my weekly eating, has it been quite tight with a good structure or have pizza’s and alcohol slipped in there somewhere, after all it was the world cup wasn’t it?

So if i indeed manage to do all of these then thats great, i am at least staying healthy and probably improving my health.

So what’s your story? Do you have week’s like these and if you don’t, what do you do the following week? Do you start exercising again or do you lose motivation already and by mid-week promise to start “next week” or “next month?

All of you tell me that you feel like death warmed up when you dont do your workouts, when you dont eat properly, and when you have poor night’s sleep. or you start drinking in the week and more than you should.

This seems like the eternal battle, is it going to be the good, well structured week or the bad, haphazard week’s that can lead to a pretty hefty downward spiral for some of you?

When this “eternal battle” ends, and you make working out and eating well totally part of your lifestyle, and exercise an absolute must in your life, THIS IS TOTALLY WHEN YOU GET IT!

Like yesterday’s post, “showing up” is 80% of the equation when you want to be successful so the minute you start analysing your week’s honestly and ask yourself how committed you truly are, that is exactly the time you progress.

  1. must be why i’m still 18st then Ker.The way i’ve been lately i thought i’d be well more than that?thank god i haven’t mind 🙂

  2. you’re a different guy now cyril, and if you want to make another step down in terms of stones, you need to do a touch more training and a bit better on your food, and 17 stone will become the new cyril, show consistency at these habits and you will be laughing trust me!

  3. Hi Cyril, nice to see you back mate, not the same without you. I have been busy in the garden also, cutting hedges and the lawn, mixing cement to plaster our new Summer House, all it needs now is a UPVC door. I have got myself moving this week, been cycling and circuit training down the Country Park, although, I went for a run this morning, 35 mins, not as bad as I thought it would be, eating ok did have strawberries and half fat cream watching tennis this afternoon, but only 1 helping. MURRAY IS OUT “HURRAH”. know I should be patriotic, but he refuses to play DAVIS CUP FOR HIS COUNTRY, so he does not deserve my support, even BECKHAM was cheering for RAFFA, you should have been in my living room, even the poor dog ran out whinning, he though I had lot the plot. I told Keri he would be out today, STRAIGHT SETS MATE. I will be sooo DOWN when it finishes on Sunday. Anyway Cyril keep up the good work, I am giving myself a month of being strict, see how I get on. RAFFA in Final Sunday, was there ever any doubt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. never doubted your in depth tennis knowledge and you were 100% right again!
Never thought murray would be crushed so easily. Would i be right in saying he never “goes for it” when he plays nadal or federer and never takes the risks required to beat them, its as if hes just trying to hang on?

  5. I think he “went for it” yesterday Ke, but he was out classed. He did fight, but a bad decision with a forehand into the net gave Raffa the first set, he stretched for it instead of moving his feet and body into it, I think even by then he was KNACKERED, FIRST SET. The second set Raffa just played the important points better, he can always rise to the occasion, by then Murray was looking slow and tired, his body language told the story, Raffa could see that too and he ran him from one side of the court to the other, brought him into the net with a drop shot that sometimes Murray could not get back and would hit into the net or he would get it back and Raffa would pass him with a shot to the other side of the court. Anyway my point being Murray WAS NOT FIT ENOUGH TO GO 5 SETS ANYWAY, he started fading after the second set, the difference being is that Murray trains NORMALLY and to win a Grand Slam you have to UP your commitment and go the extra mile, Raffa trains beyond the realms of nomallity, like Aggasi did, and until Murray is ready to COMMIT to getting into the same league as these guys HE WILL NEVER WIN A GRAND SLAM, my friend say “well it had been a long tournament for HIM” its been a long tournament for ALL the players, Raffa had nearly 4 hours longer on court than Murray in the tournament, THATS THE DIFFERENCE, FITTNESS.

  6. The Final, well you know who my money is on, but Tomas Berdych is going to be a very different player to Murray. He has won my respect with the tennis I have seen him play. He IS hungry to win his first Grand Slam and I think it will be a great match, I think 4 sets, Raffa!!!!!!!!!!! Have a great weekend you guys, not running 2day, legs hurt, goin cycling now.

  7. just come back from the track hour and that extra higher gear i’ve been doing is making a diff.Legs look lik ethere’s a shape to them at last and their burning lovely……..:-)

  8. oh forgot.I was starving to and seen some wild strawberries so had a few of them up there to lovely too they were.

  9. Well done Cyril, you want to take some cream next time, half fat mind. I cycled for an Hour and 10 mins and did some sprinting up a hill that is in the country park, only a SMALL one mind. Serena has won the ladies single final in 2 sets, boring, and Germany are in the lead so far 1-0. Enjoy the weekend. Jean x
