Day 50
The half-century mark so a huge well done on those of you are sticking with the programme, congratulations and you should be proud of your efforts! You should be showing some serious improvements by now if you have given this at least 80% of your best efforts, that’s what it takes to be in the condition you really want!
So what better time to talk to those of you that have questioned yourself on the way, about could you do it in the first place, and why weren’t you losing so much on the scales throughout? Those of you who questioned yourself about could you really stick an exercise programme this long? Those of you who really wonder whether you can make it to this mystical day 84, can you really do it?
Okay, lets answer all these “mysteries”?!!!!
Let’s take the group I train in Arthur Llewellyn Jenkins in Llantrisant, in fact I was up there today putting them through their paces.
Let me say that this group has only been training for around 8 weeks, and they have been doing amazingly well, and if I revealed some of their measurements, they would blow you away on how well they have changed their body’s and the way they feel.
All of these measurements are confidential and I would never mention names but here’s some examples.
One lady has lost two stone in two months. Eight and half inches off her waist and seven and a half inches off here waist. She has applied herself tremendously and overcome challenges that she had to produce a great result that she and her family are rightfully proud of.
Another lady has lost a stone, and nearly seven inches off her waist and hips, and feel like her life has changed for the better in a big way, yet is still seeking more and more changes which she is very capable of.
All the group has lost inches off their waist and hips, and those inches have been substantial throughout so I’m proud of their obvious big changes.
Then, those who haven’t lost so much weight doubt themselves about their progress, but when they see how many inches off their waist and hips they have lost and their clothes are much better, they soon forget about the scales as it tends to be such a negative measuring tool for many of us (as we have discussed more or less every day!!).
Those in the group who ask why they haven’t lost as much as the others, are asked are they really, truly honest about their food intake, are they still bingeing, are they still drinking more than they should, are they adding sauces to their foods, are they putting salt on their foods, are their portions sizes bigger than they should be, are they putting their workouts in and to their standard they know they can work to, are the workouts being progressed as I encourage, are the exercises being done properly, is there some walking being done or even running for those who feel they can do it?!!
Already you can see I ask some detailed questions if someone’s potential is not being reached and it pays to be honest, because I’m going to get it out of you sooner rather than later, and its in your best interests to tell the truth to yourself, because without the truth, we are unlikely to move forward and get you to look and feel your best .
So you can see there are no mysteries for you all out there, if there are, they may actually be in your own head. I am providing answers every day on here, and although I bring up the uncomfortable truth for some of you sometimes, its because I want all of you to reach your potential and do amazing things with your health and fitness, and from this you will always develop a level of mental strength that may have been previously unimaginable!
There’s no mysteries for any of you on how to get into your best shape but doesn’t mean you have to stop asking questions on why, in fact I encourage it because we are all learning after all, and we are here to help each other.
Remember I talked about the blind gentleman tuning the school piano in a previous post? Well, its like that for most of you, you don’t do just one workout, or eat well for one day and expect to be in great shape, its constant re-tuning your body and doing it until the best you can be, in fact, it lasts a lifetime and the better shape you get in, the more enjoyable it becomes, ask anyone!
Consistency is the key so let’s nail it again this week and happy day 50 to all of you!!

Jean,
Surely porridge at 8pm can’t be helping your progress? Fair play to you though on the above exercises. What are hypers by the way?
Hi guys,
My goodness Jean you are working so hard!! Fair play to you.
I was talking to my friend over the weekend. She did very well in a “Keri Challenge”
a few years ago. She told me that the reason she achieved such good results was
that she walked every day. She worked out, indoors 3/4 times, but walked for half an hour daily.
I was not built for speed, my bum acts as an anchor!! I have no inclination to run the way Jean does, but I do enjoy walking, especially on a lovely day like today.
It’s day 50 and I guess I could have done better with my eating and exercising, but I am not going to beat myself up. Having spoken to my friend it has put things in perspective.
I do walk every day, I do workout 3 times a week, I do eat better than I used to.
I will lose weight, I am changing shape, and I am carrying on and on and on until I succeed!!
Sorry if I’ve gone on a bit. Had to get it off my chest.

Hi Tom, no I agree, porridge at 8pm was a one off for me, had my evening meal at 4.50 when I should have had a snack. Had my breakfast at 10.40 after my run, my dinner at 2.30 and I changed my bread to slices to a small loaf so it was not so filling, so my pasta was ready and I ate it and after taking my granddaughter over the beach and then home at 7.30pm I was hungry and so I had porridge. Not a regular event, and my calorie intake was still only 1,110, so no worries. HYPERS are lying face down on the floor with your hands clasped behind our back and bringing your head and shoulders up off the floor, holding for 10secs and goin back down and repeating, just a warm up exercise, I throw it in to a curciut to make up 6/7 exercises, for the curciut to work.
Hi Debs, good to hear from you, yeah Debs, I could have done so much better myself but I am in the ZONE now and firing on all cylinders. I do enjoy running and find it is getting so much easier for me now, so even more enjoyable, like I said last night I NEED TO GET THERE FASTER NOW, same distance less time, guess I wont enjoy THAT so much, but has to b done. Walking is fine Debs, I did it, and when I felt I could, I started to run, which I find better only cos walking is sooooo boring if your on your own. I DONT BELIEVE THAT YOUR BUM IS THAT BIG DEBS, mine is a TOTAL ECLIPSE, when I stand up I throw the room into darkness, Jasmine says “turn the light on Grampa”. Ha Ha. You keep chipping at it girl and you’ll get there. Best wishes to you. Jeanxxxx
Hi Cyril, pleased to c your doin well mate. I am goin on the bike after this, had to wait an hour cos I had my breakfast first today. Its bike and hill work today, and a walk 4 p.m, run 2mo and indoor workout, and so on every other day. Keep at it Cyril, my weighing scales are in the shed, but I measured my waist this a.m and I have lost another inch, since Sunday, guess I’ll have to hide the tape next. Well I am goin on my bike now and to THAT HILL. Keep it up mate, and we will both get there. Jeanxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Am back, cycled 47mins, up hill x5 1) 33sec 2) 34secs 3)36secs 4) 38secs 5)39secs
Press ups 3×25
Dips 3×25
then cycled home. That was hard against the wind and my legs were gone, as Jasmine would say “Nannie my legs dont work”. About 2mo Ke, and my need to GET THERE FASTER, thought I would do some interval training, up my pace between trees and lamposts, dont think I could keep the pace up all the way there and back, what do you think.
Just typed that now, it does’nt look much but trust me it WAS REALLY HARD
jean
i think you should give the intervals a go, you know it works big time, Warm up properly PLEASE and dont pull a hamstring or a groin, please dont do that as its very easy to do. look at the difference in your attitude now, fantastic change for you and your progress now is flying, outstanding effort!
outstanding effort on the food too, but you know what im going to say jean, lets get it slightly healthier and over 1200 please, you know you want long term success too, just trying to help and well done!
i like the positivity on here today cyril, and thats a sizeable increase so well done on that! Everything feels tighter with you! NOW THATS what we’re looking for!
Going away for the weekend to a dinner dance and just been trying stuff on.
Everything I tried fitted so much better!! I have got the choice of four outfits
where at Christmas could only wear one and that “fitted where it touched” as
my Mum used to say!!
And sorry Jean, in the big bum competition I am a Gold Medallist!!
Well, you either got it or you ain’t, and I GOT IT !! Ha Ha xxxxx
Nice to hear that your clothes are fitting you better Debs, you must be doin something right. Enjoy your weekend and keep up the good work. Jean x
