Day 41

How’s your saturday’s going now that you are changing or even changed your lifestyle?

For some people, it used to be a few pints tonight, last night and maybe tomorrow too. Throw in some fast food, and maybe a couple of takeways, and this would usually mean an avalanche of calories!

Some of you have changed this, some of you are doing less of it.

I think it’s always good to unwind on a weekend, whether it’s a saturday, friday or sunday, whatever day it is for you, the problems always begin when it’s a binge from friday to sunday every week.

On top of that, it’s always a double whammy if you do binge the whole weekend, then seek solace with those close to you because you “were stressed”! The need for self-pity is one of the weaker human traits, and some people play on it more than others. The reality usually is that those close to you may be fed up of it too, but are too afraid to tell you. Let’s get out of all that rubbish and do something positive and whineing about how life’s so bad at times, listen here, it’s bloody not so let’s get out there tomorrow after your big night tonight!

The reason usually for this is trying to get attention for your actions, whatever the reason. This is the opposite of taking responsibility for your actions, the opposite to making progress and itย some circles, it’s called being “a drama queen”!

To make this programme really happen, you have to take responsibility for your actions. For example, if you want a few drinks tonight, don’t make the excuse of staying in bed the next day feeling sorry for yourself. Get your behind out of bed and get out there and run, cycle, walk with purpose, anything, as long as it’s active and you can get a good workout out of it.

For every action, there has to be an equal and opposite reaction so the saying goes. So if you pile all those sugary calories in, you’d better be prepared to quit making those excuses, and you’re out there tomorrow come rain or shine!

Schedule it in early too, as you’re leaving yourself open to yet more excuses. If you’re making the effort to get up earlier, you will feel BETTER earlier too!

Most of you have come a very long way now by now, let’s keep up the momentum, have plenty of fun tonight,ย and hit it early tomorrow morning, and you WILL feel better for it!!

  1. Hi Keri!
Was looking forward to tonight. Have not had a drink all week, and planned to have a couple of glasses of good red wine tonight. Half way through today I changed my mind. I decided not to drink, because I weigh on a Sunday morning and having had a brilliant food and exercise week did not want to spoil it. Also believe this will prove to me that it’s the odd glass during the week that is sabotaging my weight loss.
I will let you know tomorrow how I get on.

  2. thanks debs, all alcohol does is put body fat on, that’s a fact so appreciate your honestly and desire to improve as always!

  3. well went up the track for a leisurely weekend ride which weren’t to bad until my mate caught up with me doing my stretches.Puffing and panting cos my wife said i had just gone and he boomed up to catch me.So we got to chatting and before i knew i joined him for the top bit of his ride.He goes round the valley from 7 to ystrad which is 14 miles all told.Anyway i joined him for the top 1/2 and ended up putting another 5 miles to the miles i normally do.Which a few weeks ago would have been unheard of!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i think i may have today off after a week of workouts, but, but my daughter wants to go swimming this afternoon so who knows ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Weighed this morning, and guess what, not an ounce off!!
    BUT…………………saw someone this morning I haven’t seen
for a couple of weeks, and their first comment was “Have you
lost weight?” So there must be something happening which is
just not registering!! Can only assume I am building lean muscle.
I am going to believe that and not open that bottle until NEXT
    weekend, if at all.
Here’s to another week of greens not reds!!

  5. You should turn around the tide this week debs, as you have stopped drinking most days now, so momentum will start going your way, examine your portions sizes, keep the wine out, exercise as you know you can, and your efforts will soon be rewarded, have patience and it will come.

Stay consistent and there is only one outcome!

  6. Cyril
Thats a massive difference in cycling terms, and shows your body is seriously improving in performance and around your clothes which is highly important. There are many performances indicators and you need to pick your positive aspects out too, no point focusing on what hasnt shown up so well, it will all come in for for you very soon!

  7. Ditto Debs, nothing 4 me either, stayed the same AGAIN. Not happy at all, never been this hard 4 me to lose weight. Trying for 1,100 cals this week but wont up my training, doin enough already. Goin away Wednesday, after I have done my babysitting duties 2mo. Looking forward to a break. I ‘ll be heading 4 the Presilli Mountains.
