New year starts with the same goals as usual for many, but many of them are fake goals. It’s fashionable to be motivated by money, to want to live in a big house that many would be envious, to eat in the “to be seen in” restaurants, to have a “title in life”, to be seen to be doing the right things, to have a job we think others would be pleased to see us doing, the list goes on.
If this is your mission and passion in life, what you truly believe in, then fair enough.
Once you get to know yourself though, and start to like yourself and what you are doing, then you won’t need the constant approval of others to do the things you think you should be doing.
Once you get to know yourself, chances are you won’t need these so called “trappings of a rich lifestyle” because you will discover they aren’t important at all. These things come and go, and if these so called powers are all you have, then once they go you will realise you don’t have anything.
The real change, the real power you can have is doing everything with integrity, finding out what you truly stand for and fighting for it tooth and nail, learning every day so you can master your craft, being true to yourself, learning to know and like what you actually are, and being on a mission to improve yourself every day so the improvement in a few months will be vast, which will only set up further improvements that will enable to go after what you truly desire.
Step 1-You won’t have the energy for this unless you start exercising and eating right. What is one thing you can do every day as a sort of ritual that keeps you fit and ready to go after all of these lofty goals? I’m planning to do my big graig hill 5 times a week to keep me sharp and focused on what i want to do this year, think about something yourself that takes you to another level and sets you up for success.
