Snow energy!

I would never recommend this to others but i did get a run in down the coastal path this morning, and thinking it may have been milder this morning, i was wrong and it was all ice and snow, with the prospect of steady snow sunday and monday!

I can’t tell you how great i feel this morning after it though, i truly have tons and tons of energy after it and i’m fired up to post this early in the morning! It is sometimes hard to remember how good you feel after a workout when the weather is like what it is this week and last. It can sap your energy in a strange kind of way. The old saying that you can be more tired sometimes doing nothing is never more true! The dogs appreciated it too with me this morning, and from their point of view, their daily exercise too is essential and can seriously affect their mood and feeling of wellbeing.

Cyril posted today that he may be going out with the kids and sledge later, and that’s all good too. Let’s face it, if you tried cycling or running off road in these conditions, you are seriously risking some big injuries. The bottom line this week is that the week shouldn’t become a write off. The inside workouts can be taken to new levels, nothing wrong with going for a walk at all, as long as it’s safe of course and take your time.

This weather is also no excuse to eat badly, but if you do, put it behind you and start the next day as a new day, and you’re going to put it right. Like exercise, good food will do simply that, make you FEEL better and it’s been tried and tested. The healthy foods we all know about now are available in every supermarket in the land, there’s nothing stopping them come into the country and don’t buy into this rubbish that sugary and fatty food keeps you warm! I thought central heating did that?!!

And today, after a good shower and breakfast, i actually feel warmer and need less clothes for now. Snow doesn’t have to drain your energy away and make you eat a lorry load of chocolate and mince pies, it really doesn’t have to do that!!! Cyril, i want to hear how much energy you had after you came back from being out in the snow?!!!

  2. great attitude!
9 STONE 4 is important for you, but 9 stone 4 is not so as important as the journey you take to get there, then you will find out a lot about yourself. To master anything, all you have to do is master a few basic things, that is the hardest part ironically and that’s why i repeat myself on the basics, the key to being good at anything. Once you get good at your eating, training, sleeping, resting and thinking smarter, you will be a master. We are all striving for that!

  3. Stick at it Jean! We have been with Keri for 4 yrs now and it does become easier and a way of life. We all fall off the wagon at times and mostly on the weekends but get straight back on it and you will feel so much better. I find keeping the carbs low a great way to loose those extra pounds as well as regular excercise whether that be walking or running, sounds as though you are doing a great job! Well done!

  5. sounds as if you had some great fun! You are analysing your habits now, and you are not letting your bad habits get out of control, as you stopping them in their tracks, so well done and keep at it!

  6. Hi Guys, thanx Liz for ur comments, unfortunately last Saturday when I did my 92 min walk I almost slipped but managed to save myself, but I twisted my knee, been painful since, taking Iboprofun 500mg, am not doing anything at mo, hoping to be able to join in the 12 week challenge next week, fingers crossed. Cyril well done, dont think I’d have any energy left either, pushing your bike is harder than riding it, especially with the snow and ice. You had one hell of a workout anyway, so job done. Take care out there. Jeanyx

  7. Jean!!!!!!!
Torvill and Dean don’t need any encouragement from us!!
Take care of your knee. I twisted mine 5 yrs ago attempting to kick box, and it still plays up occasionally. The extra weight I carry doesn’t help either.
My walking is on the back burner. Can’t risk a fall. CAN manage a walk around the shops looking at the clothes I am going to fit into this year!!
Going to make a chicken casserole today, ‘cos Cyrils’ sounded tasty. It’s nice to eat something warm and filling but low on fat.
Had a look at rosemaryconley.tv on tinternet. There are people on there who have lost STONES!!!!
It’s really worth a look. It just proves that anyone can do it with the right motivation.

  8. Hi Debs, I should have put my walking on the back burner too, the same knee I had an op on some years ago. Ditto, with the extra weight I’m carrying too. No worries, bound to get better soon, may have to start challenge at a later date, we’ll c. Have lost the 3ins on my waist that I put back on, still watching my food, not counting calories, just keeping it clean, went overboard on the Grapes yesterday, if u listen to WEIGHT WATCHERS, I’ve blow it already this week, rather OD on grapes than chocolate. Will log onto the rosemaryconley web site, thanx. Jeanx

  11. Hi Cyril. Hope you made your swim today. You said you hope you have the bottle. What is it that you don’t fancy about it? Would you like some chubby company?
I haven’t been swimming for a long, long time but really feel that it would do me good.
