Went for my first run today, the first workout after christmas. Shouldn’t have talked about illness so much before christmas, as i had a 24 hour bug like the rest of the family. Everything felt rough, trust me!
Anyway, back to normal now and like the way this workout made me feel myself again, no struggle either and was in the dark at 7am, and can’t beat the fresh air that time of the morning, even if it seemed that everyone else was in bed!
The first workout back is always a struggle too because you really wonder whether should you be doing it. Should you have another day off? Should you have another lie in? Should you just laze around another day or another week because its christmas?
Whatever your decision, i just know it takes longer to get back into shape the longer you leave it simple as that. I know it’s more painful too, and my chest hurts if i left it another week, yes its that bad!! So while the temptation is there with all of us to give it just one more week until the new year, our bodies like routine and the sooner we get back to feeling good, the better in my book! It doesn’t have to be flat out and killing yourself, it could be a longer walk, a lighter weights session, a gentle bike ride, there’s no better feeling than getting your heart pumping again, and simply “feeling yourself” again.
Your choice!
Keri

Ur so spot on Ke, had those very same thoughts this morning, will start after New Year. But I went for a walk today as chest not to good. Diet starts 2mo, so getting rid of the ice cream and trifle today. Will be posting what I eat as that will help me to stay on track. Been to the Sales 2day, had over £200 to spend, and guess what, spent £35, too fat to fit into anything, and everything looks awful, so will save my money for the new spring range. Well done of the run this morning, 7am!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long time since I’ve done that. Post 2mo. Jean
Had a really lazy day today after catering for everyone since Thursday but I am back to training tmrw. Looking forward to being in control of the day again. I am joining Jean in a 12 week personal challenge. Hope my knee behaves itself as I have rested it enough!!
Been a nasty bug Keri, lots of people have had it, glad to say not me so far.
7am running? Are there two 7’s in the day then?!!
Here we go then. Logging my food and training from breakfast tmrw. Concentrates the mind.
2010. . . . . . . .the year of the kicked ass!!!!!!!
cyril,
Deleted one of your messages by mistake so try this one. 40-50 mins will be too long for you on total gym i would guess and very boring! Aim to get those reps down to 8-10 and select a resistance accordingly, do 3 sets of each movements max and you’re done. If you’re not feeling worked, the resistance is not high enough? Aim to work hard for a max of 25-30 mins on that machine non-stop and you’re done and enjoy the rest of your day. A simple plan but it works, let me know how you get on!
thanks for deleting my post!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 no i was getting well not bored but you know what i mean.Did 10 reps 3 times of all the exercises i do (and i’m still feeling it) only took around 20 mins and increased the intensity like you said and felt it to….though 10 wouldn’t be enough though but it was for now anyway.Cheers……
GOOD! Let me know how you get on with my inside workouts, they really work!
Hi Deb, pleased that you are joining me, Its just that I think that if I know I will be meeting up with u guys, it will definately give more incentive to train and stick to an eating plan. Know I said that I would post my eating today, but decided to wait until after my birthday 2mo, so it will be wednesday. Although having said that, I have only had 1,500 cals today so far, but I know I will have more 2mo, including alcohol, and I want to be honest. So Wednesday, Am shattered today, had my granddaughter 4 a sleep over last night, she finally crashed at 11pm and was awake this morning at 7.15, took her home at 1.30pm after trying to catch her for 30mins to dress her, she didnt want to go home. Came home and thought I would crash, but had visitors all afternoon. Post Wednesday. Jean x
