“Nothing has any power over me than that which i give it through my concious thoughts”

I totally agree!
I found this out a few weeks ago after finishing work and pulling up to the carpark to go for my scheduled run. I sat in the car looking out of the windows at the rain, which was lashing down and i thought that the easiest thing would be to make an excuse and go home. Then i rationalised that once i was wet, i was wet. End of. I’d need a shower when i get in regardless of the weather conditions anyway! So off i went, didn’t notice the rain after a few minutes, got completely soaked, loved every minute of it, felt refreshed and wondered why the rain had stopped me from running every time before?
I no longer bat an eyelid if it’s raining, and because i don’t give it a second thought it doesn’t have the power to stop me.
Rich.
great inspiring comment there Rich, and many on here totally know where you’re coming from. I always get looked at daft when im soaking running, but i always tell them i would have a shower after a run anyway, plus i feel fantastic.

i had a bit of a stop start moment this morning with the rain, wind and bloody hail stones. So said sod it only got has far has the gate when the heavens opened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but soon got warm enough (to be honest cant rember the last time it was dry cycling) has you say you cant beat a hot shower after being in the rain. Not sure wearing shorts was a good idea.Mind you i had some nice purple marks with the bloody hails stones on my legs, think i’ll cover up next time, lol, lol, lol.
Hail stones were amazing overnight, and set my car alarm off! You’re right, its all about getting out there and doing it, if you get out there and really participate in everything you can, you know you’re taking a huge step forward each time. Sitting down and watching corrie instead of working out doesn’t benefit you in the slightest, in fact, encourages you to care less about your health. Let’s keep getting out there and 17 stone next!
