Tuesday, 25th February

I proudly announce the start of our new programme later. I want you to do your best, come in with a great attitude as always, and be prepared to learn new stuff, achieve great outstanding results and gather incredible rewards from it.

Our programmes are great protectors of your immune system. If you exercise regularly, your immune system is only boosted to the hilt.

You must also reward your exercise efforts with good nutritious food. No “empty calories”, you need good quality food to boost your immune system to the max too.

You will NEVER out-train a bad diet, that is CERTAIN. Reward your body with good food, and watch how great your body responds.

Drink plenty of water, if your body is over 70% water anyway, it relies on you drinking water throughout the day for its wellbeing. Make water your drink of choice, definitely no energy drinks that can make you irritable and put strain on your heart if consumed to excess.

How are you sleeping? Sleep is ultra-important. You WILL sleep better if you train hard. You will achieve the deep restful sleep if you exercise regularly and you wake up fresher, have more energy in the tank and be ready to take on your day in far better shape.

Your training efforts must include all of these factors or they will fall down and you will get nowhere near your real true potential.

Look after your body, and it will look after you.

Sunday, 23rd February

Energy is your most vital resource. It dictates everything you do.

The members with the most energy, I know you’re going to be with us a few times a week, EVERY WEEK without question.

The ones with the least energy, I know you will be more intermittent, show up less regular and you could be forever playing catching up. That’s not a criticism, it’s an observation and it will reflect in your measurements.

It’s my job t be honest with you after all, not tell you what you WANT to hear.

I know you will say “i don’t have energy because this, that and this happened”, and I believe you, but you have to ask yourself honestly how much a huge injection of energy would give you if you asked it to magically appear?

You know it would get you back on your feet almost immediately. It would get you back in the game. It would be the start for you getting your mind right again, getting your mojo back or whatever you want to call it.

Energy is the thing that makes you feel alive, energy makes you take your chances, and stops you sitting on the sidelines of life, that’s a fact.

You are either someone who goes for it in life, or someone who holds back.

If you go for it, then usually most of what you go for often comes off, so you keep on having a go and your life improves in relation to how many good attempts you give everything.

If you don’t have energy, then you’re not likely to even have a go. You may even resent someone who continually has a go at life, ridiculing their attempts to better their lives. This is the difference energy will have towards your thinking. I urge you to change right now and most importantly take some action instead of moaning how life is turning out. You CAN do it, all you need is some self-belief and being in the presence of people who will help you become better and take you to a better place.

Energy can be got. Energy can easily be achieved if you show up regular and give your body a real go at getting stronger and developing more endurance. It’s going to take more than one week though, it will take many weeks, and months of showing up and gradually changing your lifestyle before your foundations are built.

Eat for energy 80% of the time, don’t eat rubbish most of the time, eat natural whenever possible, drink more water and avoid energy vampires of human beings, aim for supportive friends and colleagues, you want to be on the up all the time and not dragged down into quicksand.

Huge energy injection start with hitting your workout TOMORROW, monday is always the day that you MUST start off well to shape the rest of your week.

Friday, 21st February

This is not a story to impress you on how early I get up, as the biggest heroes on time I know are NHS workers who work around the clock, on Christmas Day etc without a word of complaint even after a 12 hour shift, and often come training straight after.

This clock pictured is running 50 minutes after I get up. I know by getting up so early, I have a big advantage on everyone else. I know that if we set high standards on what we need to deliver as a gym, those early hours are critical to us winning that day.

I know that we can only get better as a gym if we out-care, out-deliver and out-serve everyone else.

I couldn’t think of anything worse than going to a “business breakfast” patting each other on the back, when I could have made a huge impact on my business and members in the 3-4 hours before, that actually does something that’s going to benefit everyone immensely by showing our members how much we care, and are ready to serve them.

Getting up early isn’t a hardship, as a gym we are in a position of privilege as we get the opportunity each and every day to change people’s lives, to make everyone’s day a little better, happier and create a stronger, happier and healthier future for them.

Every time a member walks through the door, it is a gift to us in social terms. We love to see people, in these days of communities not knowing each other so much or mostly at all, we see ourselves as a vital service getting people connected not only in a physical way, but emotionally too.

Loneliness and mental health are silent killers, people need to feel wanted and desperately need a sense of purpose in life.

We know as a gym and a business we can do it better than a corporate or chain that often only cares about how many direct debit contracts  they can set up, or look after you first session then not give a damn.

Contracts make me puke, and is a sign that the gym concerned isn’t confident of keeping you by their results you get from them, so they need to trap you. DEMAND coaching from the every session and I urge you NEVER to sign contracts full stop.

In these times when it’s harder to run a business than ever, we know if you are small and nimble enough, if you are willing to out-care, out-serve and love what you do, keep learning, embrace technology fully you can indeed be the ICEBERG, the game-changer, and the corporate or chain will be the Titanic blissfully unaware of their lack of customer care or treating their de-motivated staff like garbage.

We have more opportunities than ever, use time to your advantage and make those early uninterrupted hours count heavily in yours and your customers favour.

Make it happen.
