Wednesday, 11th March

Can I say a big thank you to everyone at the gym all day and we had yet another great turn out, the youngest was 8 and the oldest this morning was 86.

We had members in who have had back, knee and hip surgery.

We had members in who get paid to play sport.

Huge amounts of you come from far and wide, some live up the road, but we are all glad to see each other.

The common thread between you all is that there are no ego’s, all of you have respect for each other, and you support each other.

A smile at the end of the day can lift the person working next to you. A chat about how their day went can unload a worry or two. The social scene of our gym is vital to the fabric of who we are.

Train hard but we laugh hard too, never taking ourselves too seriously.

Underpinning all of this is a huge commitment to doing things right ALL of the time.

At the heart of what we do is getting you results, whilst getting you out of pain and keeping you away from injury.

I say thanks a lot because I am truly grateful to all of you for turning up in such great numbers. ALL OF YOU are great to work with, and as we begin to escape winter, you will know that all of the hard work you have all winter long will be so worth it as we begin to hit Spring in a big way!!!

Tuesday, 10th March

I know most people get a lot stiffer as they get older, and especially when it’s damp and cold. I have this conversation daily both inside and out of the gym.

There are two choices though, you either move more, carefully to start with and gradually feel better, or you stay on the settee and accept the pain will only get worse and your best days are behind you.

Spring can either dance for you or you will see each season coming not as an opportunity but as something to grind yourself through and wish life “as it used to be many years ago”.

I have trained many individuals well into their 80’s and each of them is thankful for the new found mobility, and the range of opportunities it brings BACK into their lives. You have to look after your body or many of its functions will slow down and eventually desert you.

As we get older, we appreciate the most important things. It’s not bragging about a new car or flashy coat, it’s about appreciating nature, being able to play with our kids or grandkids, and still keep up with them.

It’s about being with people who care about us and appreciating our surroundings so we can indeed dance into spring and make the new season our most memorable ever.

On a sunny day down the harbour or beach, you see an endless amount of people looking happy because they are moving, walking, running or cycling. I don’t believe they would feel so good if all they did was sit in the car.

Stiffness is an ongoing battle for most, and you need to accept the fact it will only increase if you don’t start your daly ritual of moving more and boosting your immune system too.

You CAN turn it around, you can reverse the process of your body seizing up, and the confidence you develop from getting fitter and stronger again at YOUR OWN pace, will change the way you look and feel about life again.

Stiffness is a daily threat only if you leave it. Your body was meant to move and overcome most things life can throw at it.

Tuesday, March 10th

Thanks for all the action today, all the stuff you needed to do on a monday was done, and was still going on when I left.

Having a terrific Monday is everyone’s opportunity. You can knuckle down on a monday and set yourself up for an incredible week.

Get stronger in the gym and you get a bullet proof mind for the rest of the week.

Whatever pressure comes your way, the stress will be handled dramatically better when you are fit and healthy.

There comes a moment in all our days when we have to seize the chance we have. We either grab it with both hands or we shy away from it and say “maybe tomorrow”, and tomorrow never comes.

Get used to taking huge advantage of every opportunity you get EVERY day because its there I’m telling you.

Perhaps the reason you don’t see opportunities anymore is because you stopped taking them a long time ago, and you don’t even recognising them anymore.

Get your senses awake again, get them truly alive by working your body to its true potential.

Tomorrow is yet another opportunity, make sure you take it!!

Monday, 9th March

Thank you for the urgency everyone showed this morning.

You have to come in with a great attitude or you will miss the point of the programme. Our programmes are ambitious, they are designed for you to do incredible things, and get outstanding results from all of your efforts.

Our number one mission is to get you stronger, once you significantly improve your performance in the gym, then you will become better at everything else you do. Get your bones, joints stronger, improve and change your shape, become stronger in everyday life literally in everything.

Second thing we do is endurance, making you ready for anything. You need enough energy left in the tank when it comes to doing anything physical AND mental in life.

You need to last the pace, and not quit early every time. Stay the course, get through your sessions without any compromise because endurance WILL come your way if you show up, get stuck in every time and get to know new levels of energy and recovery.

The third thing you get is balance. Some of your fiends will encounter falls often after 50 and never really recovery from those falls. Fractures, breakages of bones are devastating, that’s why you need better balance for all areas of your life.

Create better balance and you create better performances in your chosen sport, your workouts and in life, your quality of life depends on it.

All our programmes WILL make you perform better at everything you do, PROTECT your from future injuries to a large degree, and help you not only last the pace in life, but excel at everything you do.
