We are hard wired to listen to negative comments 7 times more than positive comments about us. This is the way we are built according to all sorts of studies, and the way we handle opinions and who we hang out with are crucial to our happiness, and peace deep inside of us.

When we believe and say out loud the negativity that is affecting us, we tend to believe it, and can have a times 10 negative effect on our immune system and health in general because we will start to act out and live by that new reality if we believe it to be true.

Studies show that negative thinkers struggle to complete basic tasks when compared to more positive thinkers. 

If someone that influences us tells us that exercise and eating healthy are no good for us, then we may believe they have a point. We many not initially see the obvious part that they don’t exercise themselves and we are only showing them up by being fitter, healthier and happier, and they are the unhappy and unfulfilled ones.

We all have had people in our lives that we have listened to that negatively affect our lives, and until we stop their voice constantly running us down and get them out of our lives, the constant attacks however subtle they seem, will not only stop us doing deeply beneficial things for our lives, they will start to affect our health too, leading to horrible feelings of anxiety and worry that will keep us at at 3am.

Don’t believe something is too good to last or you don’t deserve it, you deserve your success if you work hard enough at it over time, never let ANYONE take that away from it, even better leave those people disappear from your life, life will change overnight for you.

We love positive people at the gym and we are known for our unique atmosphere. We accept though that not everyone wants to join that bus and if they don’t want to be part of the special positive supportive place we create, then we encourage energy vampires to join another bus with more like minded people. We build you up, near tear you down, we know how vital that is.

Try crushing some of that negativity with a workout in a positive environment with a coach that builds you up constantly, try not voicing your negative feelings for 24 hours and giving them life (start being grateful for all the great things you have going for you in your life).

Listen to the right voice in your head, crush your fears and anxiety and see you immune system go to great heights, along with your happiness.

Just to confirm the precautions we have taken at the gym over the last few weeks, and over the last few years.
We have a fantastic cleaner in Nikki who everyone agrees does an incredibly thorough job. It is staggering the amount of work she puts in. Her standards are far and above anyone I have ever met.
You will have noticed that paper towels are our preferred drying option after training. We have 3000 of them. We strongly encourage you to wash your hands BEFORE training and after, as many times as you want.
We have NHS official anti-bacterial wipes which are used every day on equipment and classes, you are welcomed to use them whenever you want too.
We have a huge amount of NHS nurses at the gym, and take sensible measured advice from them at all times.
Our exercise mats are Airex, best ones on the market at least £130-£150 for each one and renewed regularly, i have used them for at least 20 years in all my training and thats the standard we stick by. They cannot hold germs internally, the only ones on the market that do that, and are wiped daily with anti-bacterial wipes.
Our flooring is state of the art and top of the range professionalisms flooring, and of the highest EU standards on hygiene, and are very easy to wash and clean.
Exercise will be a massive and proven boost to your immune system and we are doing everything we can to make your experience a healthy and very enjoyable one.
Attendance remains high at the gym and we are thankful for that. Personal responsibility for hygiene is vital too so if we all keep our standards very high, then things will work very well.

I often ask some members of the gym, who have experienced many hardships, why they remain sunny, why they give me a hug often and why they more or less always have a big smile on their face.

They talk about gratitude, and their daily appreciation of what they HAVE in life now, despite the obvious hardships they have suffered.

I’m not talking about richness in terms of new cars, I’m talking about in their own words “opening the curtains and looking out into their back garden, and being in wonder at nature in all it’s beauty and glory”.

They are rich because they deeply appreciate the true gifts around them, and they want to exercise so they can appreciate those gifts fully as they are fit and well.

Then they deeply appreciate their grandkids, meeting a new partner maybe after loss or a bad experience, getting new friends who care for them after years of being lonely, and they love that new support in life.

Walking around in gratitude can make you the richest person you know, no matter what bad has happened before.

Some members talk about the gym as something they GET to do, and not something they are forced to or have to do. They realise their ability, what potential they really have and the energy it gives them for the rest of the day.

Anxiety affects many of you, and anything you can do that smashes that worry has to be good, and the gym is always a great weapon of choice.

Your mind and your attitude can either be a powerful ally or something that will have your stomach in knots. Appreciate how unstoppable you become when you get your mind in the right place.

Appreciate the opportunity you have right now to exercise and make you PRESENT for everything in life, no more life on the sidelines or not being able to keep up anymore.
