Monday 1st sept

Great athletes, great businesses, great performers don’t rely on doing spectacular things.

They rely on doing ordinary things with consistency, commitment and focus.

Anyone can do ‘flavour of the month things’, faddy trends, what “looks good” even, but doing what you know works without complaint, without fanfare and doing those things relentlessly will separate you from everyone else.

Having a great workout on a monday becomes natural when you are used to doing and you never miss Mondays. Having great week’s happen you always show up, making your workouts a priority in you diary.

Your mental health has much more chance of being in a good place when you workout regularly and you love the benefits it has on your brain, as well as your body.

It’s about doing the ordinary everyday habits that benefit you, and doing them all the time, then your normal everyday life becomes much better in every single way and it’s all achieved by being ultra-consistent with the stuff you know that works.

Friday 29th aug

We are taught that doing less is a victory, to be aspired to, to be admired, it’s a sign as if “we have made it”.

BUT when we do less, and as we age, we discover our body actually is capable of doing less and less.

AND  we rely more and more on not walking anywhere anymore, the car for everything and often medication to solve our pain issues. I don’t have to remind you that these choices make our lives worse, and help dig a slow and gradual hole for us that we are unlikely to get out of.

When you exercise, your weight will never go down much at all, if you show up regular it will only go up.

When I had my recent knee injury, I knew I had to get it strong again.

I was down to 10kg on one leg extensions at my worse, now I’m already up to 25kg each leg, any my function has increased dramatically, and I know I can and will only get stronger on it as long as I keep working at it.

Your body and individual body parts will only get stronger, have great function for daily life IF you keep working at it, keep progressing, keep having a growth mindset with your training and never settle for the mediocrity that not exercising and eating badly will surely bring to your life.
