The roadmap to getting fit and healthy is clear, but many of you will often get distracted or discouraged from taking the road straight to the top, i’d say it’s very common. If I just take today for example, lots of you already got your workout done, not because you think that just one amazing workout will make all the difference, but it’s become a big and essential part of your daily life now, and you can’t do without that feeling of feeling good, and bringing energy into your life. It’s become part of you, your physical self and your mental self, you want to be strong between the ears too. Then you may be aware that lots already in society have given up and quit on their New Years resolutions. They will tell themselves a story that exercise “wasn’t for them”, “it made me ache too much”, “I lost my mojo”, “exercise is not for me”, “I have had too much bad luck in life”, or whatever story is easier at that particular time when you have to pick yourself up again.Look around and there is ALWAYS someone worse off than you-FACT however you may not want to be told that. It’s dangerous to live in the past, and social media will help you dwell there for long periods. The problem is that life LIVES HERE and RIGHT NOW, you got to take the action, and take positive actions.Your thoughts become words, and your words become actions and if they are negative, then your outcome and the way you feel in life is always going to look gloomy and depressed. There is a heart of a lion inside of you but if you dont instruct it to come out regularly, it will stay inside your chest, and not be of any use to you.Distraction, people putting you off, people not wanting you to succeed because it only makes them look bad, are common threads of everyday life, it’s up to you how you respond to those people that ultimately makes the difference. Are you going to respond to our constant challenges to bring the lion out of inside your chest or are you going to wallow in the misery of “the crowd”, usually about things that may have happened years ago. It’s a new month, a new platform to you getting it right this time, not veering off the path, and staying in a straight line right up to the top of the mountain. What’s it going to be?

What need to happen-30th January
The obesity war which causes ill health and death from heart disease, cancer, diabetes and a host of other ailments has been going on for many, many years with 62% and rising of us in this country overweight due to our lifestyle, eating poor quality food, eating too much of it and not exercising enough.
Obesity has been identified as a major reason and risk factor by government medical advisors why there have been so many Covid deaths too.
It’s no coincidence that from poor lifestyles we have a mental health time bomb that is escalating at extremely alarming rates, that will have a devastating effect on our communities for generations to come.
As a gym, we are here to have a very positive and scientifically PROVEN effect on obesity and mental health, we have endless cases of transforming seemingly “hopeless” cases into very fit and health individuals with very positive mental health who make a very positive impact on society.
We are currently closed, our inside of the gym has one closed an incredible 31 out of 44 weeks since the first lockdown. This is NOT a moan as we have got on with it and done our best with the cards we were dealt, as many businesses won’t be coming back at all, with the predicted worst economic times in 300 years (government quote not mine).
We studied film making, and got great help in technology from the college many years ago, and created a state of the art home training service. In lockdown, this has been highly successful for us beaming our ever changing and every day different workouts into our members living rooms, it’s allowed them to stay in great health, and also encouraged many new to exercise individuals start to get their bodies AND MINDS right too.
We have a one of a kind 8000 square feet outside area, specifically made for exercising, a controlled environment with professional sporting facilities, fully instructed and perfect for social distancing too. We have proven we can do this successfully, and will re-open once we get the ok to do so from government. Outside training is scientifically proven to be very safe and we are raring to go, and we want to boost and inspire as many people as we can.
In the summer, the chancellor headlined saying people are “desperate for Nando’s”, and actively encouraged to go to any eatery you could, and still kept gyms closed, despite gyms having one of the lowest risks in the world according to official studies. I love eating out myself occasionally, but only where food is freshly made with love and pride (we have great ones in Burry Port).
Since the first lockdown, the big chains of fast food, have never closed. They are “essential” apparently. At a time when obesity is a very dangerous risk factor in all our lives, we will never win the war with places of sickness dressed up as “heroes” of the pandemic with often big queues allowed daily.
The message MUST change and we need leadership.
We as a country have a unique opportunity to RESET the obesity war, we need PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY as well as government support.
Do more than government “soundbites” to encourage our people to exercise, ENCOURAGE them to get coached properly so they have a roadmap out of their own individual situation.
ENCOURAGE and support healthier and fresher restaurants, and tell the truth of the effects of eating fast food every day, nothing wrong with a treat occasionally of course, but spell it out to people how to feel better which will have a very powerful effect on their mental health too.
Our immune system and mental health are out most important asset, I have daily messages from people struggling, as well as parents of kids who are missing their exercise with us so much in all ways.
We need to make clear where we are going right now as a nation in these desperate times, and come out of it much fitter, stronger and in much better shape mentally too.
Measure our nation on it’s wellbeing, and to do that we show throw resources into places of wellness, exercise and eating facilities, that can only inspire a much better future for all our generations to come.
Friday 29th January
Congratulations on a great month in very difficult circumstances..This has been the hardest lockdown for many of you, for your children, for just about everyone.
The question is what did we have in place as a plan to get through it?Do we sit idle and worry about everything getting us down, use our time wisely or complain we have too much time? Nobody has too much time, that’s the one thing that we continually have less of, and you should cherish every second because you won’t get it back. Our online workouts though have made a big impression.
We have constantly upped them, raised the standard constantly based on your feedback after each session, and I believe now we are clearly in much better shape than we were at the start of the year. A lot of work goes into the sessions, and I appreciate your continual strong feedback, it means a lot.
We have a bigger sense of community online too, many more of you have bought into the concept (we have an all time high now working out with us online), and realised it’s not a “go through the motions” concept, it’s one of getting the best out of yourself, getting your mind in a great place, and replacing negativity, doom and gloom, with hope, positivity and a sense that we can come out of this with a lot more strength than we thought, because we have developed deeper levels of resilience when the easiest thing in the world was to keep moaning about our lot in life.
When many businesses, and individuals are struggling in a big way and some never coming back, we realise how lucky we are to have your overwhelming support, but we know full well we have to deliver an incredible product in return. The world has turned on it’s head, but we have turned on our heads too ,and we fully embrace the changes happening, and we remain committed to spreading the positivity of how exercise can literally change your life, and save lives too in these desperate times.
