Right in the middle of January and the cold hard reality of where your health is. How would your report card on your health look? And how much is it costing you in all areas of your life if you aren’t giving it the proper attention?

If you don’t eat right, your body will eventually shows cracks, your immune system will show more weakness than it used to, you will be back and forth to the doctor’s more often and even the hospital more. Every cold and flu will knock you over easier than it used to, and your recovery will be slow and up and down.

Papering over the cracks doesn’t work either, eat well for a couple of days is far less effective than changing your lifestyle for now and the future, and deciding to live a healthier life-for the rest of your life because you know it will pay off big time.

You will find out the hard way that having a few takeaways a week regularly will hurt your health, it will be tough on your body drinking a few days a week lowering your immune system drastically, hard choices need to be not only in January but balance must be achieved the rest of your life, moderation works over the long term.

On the other hand, if you are down the gym most days, you will know what resilience is all about, you won’t care about how wet and cold it is, and you will thrive with your health because day in day out, you are putting the big shifts in and your health is being rewarded continuously with high energy, huge positivity and an ability to do anything you want in your life, and nothing will stop you because your health threatens to curtail your choices in every day life.

Your health report card can be great, and your consistent efforts on all fronts will be the deciding factor.

Monday 13th-fighting illness

Great to see so many of you recovering from the flu/colds/whatever has been going around, and some of you are still struggling with it.

That feeling of illness, low or no energy is highly discouraging just as you want to get going this year.

What you can do though is do everything you can do to get better and feel better, because anyone would swap feeling ill with feeling fantastic.

If you have fresh and natural foods in your house, you will be on the road to recovery, and only enhancing your energy levels and crushing the germs within you that are making you feel so rough. Don’t forget those same foods will help your immune system protect you from future viruses/flu’s etc, even more reason for a complete lifestyle change for the future too.

You may not feel like drinking much water, but dehydration will drag out your cold, crush your energy levels, and kill your enthusiasm for anything, and definitely slow down your recovery.

Drinking more water will pull you through this rough time, and remind you how important water is to daily performance levels when you exercise and for general life.

You recover when you rest, so give your body a chance to rest by getting to bed early, this applies if you are ill or not, sleep is medicine and will heal your body better than any tablets or pills, proper sleep will make you perform at a high level, missing out on sleep is proven to be harmful over time, and when it’s all about you feel good and at your best right now, put sleep at the top of your list of priorities.

Good habits not only boost your health, but will pull you out of a hole when you feel sick and will do anything to get back to normal.

Monday Jan 13th

Your path is different to everyone else, so don’t make the mistake of comparing yourself to others all the time.

Your rate of progress will be different to others, but what I am certain of is that if you keep showing up at least 3 times a week, if you eat healthy 80% of the time and if you get to bed early most of the time, then you WILL be in very good health.

Always keep looking forward and never look backwards regretting what’s gone in the past, what’s happened has happened, and only good things will happen in your future if you keep on putting the work in, keep showing up and surrounding yourself with encouraging and positive people.

It’s monday again and a perfect time to turn the page and for you to write the next exciting chapter in your life story, it won’t happen by accident though, so keep showing up and having a go, however hard that may be sometimes even walking through the door.
