Once you are comfortable in your own skin, you can set your OWN records, your own shape, your own progress, your own level of happiness and on YOUR own terms.

It’s pointless comparing yourself to others, because we are ALL different.

We have a massive variety of individuals each with their own gifts, their own challenges and their own different situation.

Someone who has just had a baby (we have many), will have far different goals than someone who plays professional sport. Comparison is pointless.

Someone who has high blood pressure will have different goals to someone who wants to raise their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Someone who is struggling with their mind to function day to day will have different goals to someone who is 70 years of age and suffering from osteoporosis.

Someone who is 14 stone who wants to look exactly someone 8 stone is unrealistic and the heavier individual is not celebrating how good she can look if she maxed out her OWN potential. Comparison will eat you up if you let it especially when it’s pointless and always self-defeating.

We have members looking amazing at 8 stone AND a few stone heavier full stop.

Mark lewis will bust me up pulling that tyre up the hill in terms of time, but instead of crucifying myself inside about it, i celebrate the fact that i can do it myself, and doing it, EVEN if it takes me much longer, it is a victory for ME.

The message is to be happy what you are doing, appreciate the progress you have and ARE making, how far you have come in ALL ways since you started and celebrate all the big things you can still do and ASPIRE to do and are totally within your reach.

All of this makes you far happier in your own skin, puts a sense of perspective on everything we do and totally celebrates you as an individual, what makes you unique and how you stand out as someone who may have overcome the odds and the chances are that many ADMIRE you either publicly or from afar.

So you are starting to realize that its time to change your programme, and doing the same old thing will get the same old results.
Then we talked about the need to change the tempo of your workouts, you need to rest less in between exercises, in order to work your lungs harder and increase the amount of oxygen you are able to take in at any one time.

This process can shock you a little, and can take a few weeks to get used to. The great news is that once you do, you won’t want to train any other way!

Then once you have become used to this way of doing things, you need to make sure you are picking the right exercises to enhance your workout.

We have talked many times about “exercise cost”, and how the bigger the energy cost of each exercise, the more benefits you would have in calories burned, body fat burned and positive effects on your metabolism..

So you need to consider some more options.

Weights are not the only way to get stronger, though they are still important.

Medicine balls/walls balls can be a session on its own.

Bosu balls can dramatically improve your strength all over, dramatically improve your core, and add brand new dimensions to your training.

The swiss/fit ball is a great tool, but often mis-understood and always under-used. The balance work is vital on here, and should be an integral part of your training programme.

Boxing is vital to any programme, and you don’t have to be a boxer to do it of course.

Just these 4 pieces of equipment can revolutionalise your training and bring you dramatically different results! More tomorrow.

If we have talked a lot about results this week, and it sounds like a wonderful situation to be in, and you think that YOU are not getting results so what i am saying is far-fetched, then you really need to change the way you train and eat, and get out of the programme you are in right now!

Chances are that if you are not in our programme, you are stuck in either a

a. You’re not exercising at all.

b. You have exercised before, but because of a lack of progress, or a bad experience, you no longer have hope that exercise can work for you.

c. You DO exercise, but you get mediocre results, and really treading water when it comes to what you do, you are bored and feel no way out.

d.You exercise regularly, you try your best but are puzzled why you do not look at your best, and wonder if exercise is really the answer for you?

e. You try every fad going, the “next big thing” is surely going to work this time, and you get eternally disappointed by all the false promises that are somehow going to change your life!!

f. You just go to slimming clubs, but like the 97% of others (according to multiple research companies) fail and put all the weight back on and 5% on average (again according to research), then go through it again and again.

Many of you may in these groups, or have been, and its painful to be here.

There is ANOTHER way based on scientific research though, and this is my mission to bring the truth to you.

We talk about those ways every day on here, so feel free to look back through all of the posts over the last 4 years or so.

The feedback is getting greater and greater, so feel free to ask me any question at fitness@kerimckibbin.co.uk.

The greatest satisfaction is putting individals on the right track after getting let down so much in the past by misinformation.

The ultra-long weekend brings its own problems in terms of your health this week, and making sure you still manage to get a productive week in. Please do not waste another week in your development, because this week could easily turn into next week, the week after and maybe into a month before you know it!

Cut off that potential right on the downside right now, and turn your health into something that’s going forward, not fading back into obscurity!

Its Wednesday already and hopefully, this doesn’t mean the start of your exercise week. If it does and you rest every single bank holiday and maybe weekend, then you had better be in the mood for a big workout today at some stage!

It cannot be overstated how important regular exercise is in terms of feeling good, getting rid of persistent and niggling aches and pains, creating fresh energy for your body, making your immune system far more resilient to future illnesses and challenges to your health of all kinds.

This is why I write this thing most days, because of the need to stress to individuals that you need to become active not just because you want to look better, but more like because most people would kill just to FEEL better.

I write this to help people lay their foundation for health for the future, and all the massive benefits that come with all of this! This has to be and needs to become a priority right now for you, or you will suffer in silence for the rest of your life and sometimes in pain often due to ill health, which can be avoidable in many cases.

Most of us have the odd moan now and again they have to exercise when they may not feel like it, but you will be moaning far louder when the ill effects of not exercising/eating badly come through over the longer term.

Its early june and your chance to turn this thing all around, lets do it and make it happen right now!!!

Debbie makes a great point in yesterday’s comments about the importance of fruit and vegetables in your diet, and the dangers of taking in too much fruit, and the importance of taking in your green vegetables.

She is totally right of course because if you consume TOO much fruit, just like too much of anything, YOU WILL put on weight.

The green vegetables are great right across the range and will give you a huge range of benefits, without the sugars and the calories of course will be very low.

Let’s look at the broader picture too though. How many times have you heard someone say, “grapes put weight on me like nothing else”, bananas pile weight on me and i don’t know why”, “whenever i eat fruit, i pile on weight full stop”.

In my experience, and working with individuals who have told me such stuff, i have found deep down that the fruit is not exactly the problem. The problem tends to be the sugary chocolate and crisps they are tending to eat AS WELL as the fruit!!! This is the case 100% o the time in my book, and blaming fruit for putting weight on is usally a copout, or just another excuse. As i said above, it is entirely possible to put weight on eating too much fruit, but the reality is that not too many people actually get around to eating that much fruit anyway!!!!!

You have to be honest with yourself when analysing your diet, are you ignoring the glass of wine every night that definitely will cause weight gain? What about the full fat milky coffee you consume every day with biscuits, or a piece of cake, have you really factored that in? How about all of those low fat sauces and mayo, are you still eating that rubbish because it can be extremely destructive to your weight/fat loss plan for sure!!!!!

Another thing with fruit and vegetables, you should be eating them for what you don’t know too. We all know they offer plenty of good nutrients, but they also give an enormous boost to our immune systems, so as long as the fruit is eaten in moderation ,of course its going to be good for you, excellent for you in fact and give you a ton of benefits that perhaps we don’t know even exist right now, scientists are constantly finding new benefits of fruit so keep your diet varied and you won’t go far wrong at all!!

Don’t forget that the sugar from fruit will give you energy too, far better than the rubbish sugar you get from energy drinks, plus will be better for your teeth!!!

Benefits all the way in my book so lets get them into your body every day but in moderation!!!!
