Once you finish the marathon, you may think that’s it but its really not.

After the aching has subsided, and your toes, blisters and back has recovered, you still will likely stay in this very positive mood and state of mind for around 3-4 months afterwards.

The marathon often gives you a thought process where you start to think that anything is possible.

Six months later, you may develop an urge to do a marathon again the year after the last one you did. This is not uncommon.

The shorter runs you get back into after a marathon are both a relief and make you think that maybe you are cheating yourself.

The lack of injuries and minor niggles are great, but somehow you get to miss the aches and pains of the ultimate challenge.

All of these thoughts and deliberations are likely to go through your head for a year or two after the marathon, after all you have accomplished so much by going through the marathon in the first place, and you have overcome so many obstacles, then maybe it is true that nothing really is impossible!

Following on from yesterday, you need to determine the rut you may find yourself in, or at least realise that you may have hit a plateau that you HAVE to get over!!

Determine how serious the situation is, what you can do about it and what goals you may have once you get over this temporary hump in the road!!

Has it been a few days you have been stuck in your training plateau?

Has it been months even since you can remember serious progress?

If it has only been a few days, then you shouldn’t worry anymore because all of us can have the odd bad week here and there!

Getting back on track after one bad week could be as easy as getting a few nights of good quality sleep, this can fix a lot of problems and get you fired up on all levels!!!

If it has been a few months, it is serious and you need to make dramatic change right now!

If you havent had progress for a while, then there’s always a reason, and probably several reasons!!!

Go over your diet, go over your training, and go over your sleeping habits. Three simple things right there but three massive subjects!!! Get all three and you reach all time highs in your physical conditioning, get all three wrong and you end up in poor shape!!

This time of year offers a stark choice on how you should eat, drink and sleep.

If you make the poorest choices full of sugar, saturated fat and alcohol, then prepare to be wearing baggy jumpers all winter to try and avoid all that weight you’re going to put on.

Make consistently good choices even when those around you are eating and drinking all sorts of rubbish, and you will get the body and overall health you really want!!!

Friday, 6th July

How you do you know if you have had a great workout or on the right kind of diet?

Well, you should just know if you are doing the right kind of workout FOR YOU! Same goes with the food side.

The sad truth is that there are many, many people trying to scam you out of your money with various ways of getting into shape.

Some of the biggest liars and scam merchants are the weight loss clubs, when will they learn that they need to stop helping people lose weight the wrong way.

Losing weight quickly (5 pounds a week on occasions) and in a totally UNSUSTAINABLE WAY, is not the right way to do things, I hope people will wake up to these charlatans!

97% of these people will pile all this weight back AND, get this FIVE PER CENT MORE on average when they come off this crazy way of eating.

Avoid them at all costs.

Then there is the charlatans of shakes and bars, you know the ones I am talking about, charging you a fortune to drink shakes and bars all day, then one meal in the evening.

Then you come off the diet soon enough, and then REALLY pile the weight on in double-quick time. The people peddling these crazy ways of eating ought to be locked up, and I really believe this due to the misery they cause on individuals desperate to finally get their excess weight off.

With these people I would throw in the people who advise you to exercise on a plate, and charge you a costly sum for doing this. They are backed by ZERO scientific evidence and the people who still fall for this marketing rubbish and downright lies really ought to know better by now surely!!!

Theres a million other exercise programmes out there, most of them trying to get your hard-earned money out of you seemingly all the time.

Its time to fight back and not let them con you anymore. I would name and shame them but for legal reasons I cannot, but I suspect many of you have been conned by them already.

The good news is that most of them DON’T stay in business for very long anyway. Longevity comes from doing the right thing all the time, or at least most of the time and this is why tried and tested ways back up by science will always work for you 100% of the time!!!

Put your trust in results, and ignore the con men of the health and fitness industry!!
