Tuesday, 16th February

Going “all in” means total commitment. Going all in means you are likely to achieve what you put your mind to if you give it enough time, and you do something positive each and every day to bring you closer to your goals.

“All in” isn’t something you do “sometimes”, or something you do when you just “feel like it”.

You need to jump in with all your heart if you really want to accomplish your best work. If you take 5 axe swings every day at a tree, no matter how big, tough or stubborn the tree is, then the tree will always fall eventually. If you take 5 positive actions every day, then sure enough you will achieve exactly what you set out to do, and usually a lot more!

You need to get into a mindset that it’s impossible to fail, that as long as you take enough action consistently every day, then nothing is beyond your grasp.
Once you get into this mindset, it will break any feeling of not wanting to do anything or frustration you may have that you’re not accomplishing what you really want.

If you get into a mindset of throwing yourself into your programme, then opportunities will open up for you to do even more, your body and brain will accommodate your efforts and recognise you are constantly aiming to get better and better.

Progress is achieved one step at a time. First one is getting yourself on a programme. Then you learn it. Then you get used to it and then you thrive on it.

Our motto is that you always move forward with your exercise programme, you always need to be tested in a different way, you always need to find new ways of strengthening your weaknesses, and a new challenge every day keeps your mind fresh, and tells your body it needs to constantly adapt.

This way progress becomes a daily part of your life, and it becomes impossible to fail because you’re finally giving it everything you’ve got!!

Sunday, 3rd January

We have a “20 mile march” attitude to our gym, our training programme, our eating programme and our philosophy in general.

The 20 mile march is simple, it is to get from point A to B in the quickest, safest and most sustainable way possible, addressing challenges along the way, dealing with them and marching on with a well-thought out strategy of being in it for the long term, and always doing the RIGHT thing for our members no matter what.

You get many trying to sprint before they can walk, often blowing up before they get a even a mile down the road. These include those who offer you faddy diets, such as cleanses/detoxes/eliminate food groups/shake and bars types of diets. Whilst you will lose weight, you will always pile it back on and more, leaving frustrated and angry that you fell for products that only “cowboys” sell, that take you to the cleaners and your wallet.

If you really want to go the whole 20 miles, then you need to start off steadily and at a sustainable pace. Making wholesale changes to your diet immediately is too much and you will be likely back to square one relatively soon. Make one change in your diet, sick to it, once that becomes normal for you, then make another change, then try to master that and so on.

Mastering the basics and making them an engrained part of your lifestyle are vital to your success, and you lasting the journey.

Mastering the fundamentals mean you appreciate what works for you, and you will be less tempted to veer off course for all the “cowboys” waiting to steal your money offering their “magic beans” just like Jack and the Beanstock.

So this week, start off as you mean to go on. Making solid food choices, showing up for your workouts, realising the value of sleep, and staying positive knowing that as long as you keep marching forward, you are going to be a REAL success story that will likely be in great health and in shape for a lifetime.

Tuesday, September 1st

September marks the start of autumn and your chance to make a charge at your highest levels of the year. Most of you have an incredible base and foundation anyway, so let’s aim high and smash out of the way what has gone before.

Many of you will have been hamstrung over the summer months due to babysitting commitments, the kids were off and that’s always tough to fit training in. Now though you may have a little more time so let’s pick up the pace and really make it count.

Now it’s all about slamming the sessions in, there’s no substitute for regular training. From hitting regular sessions, your body gets used to performing at a higher level again. When you are at this higher level, you feel a lot more capable of reaching out and hitting your best levels.

When you at your best levels, nothing feels better! Your clothes feel incredible on you, your energy levels are off the chart and your optimism and enthusiasm to do better in everything in life are huge!!!

September 1st sees the return of momentum in your training, your appetite to eat healthy and consistently, your desire to start looking your best again and seeing how far you can take your body if you give it the chance!!

There are no excuses not to dig deeper, to reach higher and do it on a regular basis. This is your time so let’s make it a massive month!!!

Monday, 29th June

Seeing it through and keeping our philosophy intact should always be seen as one of our strengths.

Seeing it through means we are developing stronger minds, not wilting under pressure to take the easy way out or quit, we become stronger every time we beat that feeling to take the easy way out.

We do have a remarkable amount of individuals who are changing quickly. The foundation of how they do it is very strong too.

Eating real food is sustainable, and getting educated how to eat properly and why we do it is vital. This means your results are always going to last, and you will develop an ever-increasing amount of energy.

Your training is sustainable too. You are encouraged to get stronger, to recover quicker in between each exercise, you are encouraged to become a better runner, cyclist, weight trainer, and become an “athlete” in all true meanings of the word.

You shouldn’t accept the fact that you may have bad balance, through our training you have every opportunity to get much better balance, to strengthen your core and become ready for anything that life has to throw at you.

Real fitness doesn’t mean relying on machines.

Real fitness means learning much more natural movements, getting your body to move in the way it was supposed to, become much more flexible and really sharpening up your reaction times.

Keep training the right way, don’t fall for yet another faddy diet, and really see this through because you know if you give it enough time, it’s going to work big time for you!!!

Tuesday, 16th June

When you look back at your life, the moments you will be most proud of will likely be the ones where you stepped out of your comfort zone in the pursuit of something you believed in.

Don’t allow the lull of comfort to stop you getting what you really want.

If you don’t go for it this time, then you will keep putting it off until it’s so far at the back of your mind you never get it done.

Allow yourself to dream big, to set big goals, and focus on things that really stretch you.

It’s never too late. Each day is an opportunity to start again, to move in a new direction or confirm the good direction you are already on.

If you’re honest with yourself, you will know where you are playing it safe and where you could do better or improve upon.

You can’t choose safety when you are trying to get the best out of yourself every day.

You can’t pursue greatness AND comfort at the same time.

Step out of your comfort zone in set some goals to get there. It’s all about growing as a person too.

A good strategy is to tell a close friend of a goal you really want to achieve, and tell them to check in on you regularly to see how you are getting on.

Do the same for them so you can both keep a focus and work towards something together.

Make sure you both celebrate the goals when you get there!!
