When someone asks your opinion on whether to take on a new challenge, and i’m betting you are a well meaning individual, who only wants the best for people, your opinion is usually i would bet “to go for for it”, “to make yourself happy”, “to go and make a better future”.

Our kids are in a school Christmas play today, we wish them all the best, to enjoy the occasion and to savour the day. If they want to try new activities, we fully support them and want them to have a great experience out of it.

When it comes to ourselves, most of us short-change ourselves on our decisions because we often think “we aren’t good enough or our time has somehow passed to do it”. When opportunities come up, quite often we debate them heavily and not often back ourselves, the odds are against us we think and it would be “safer” to stay as we are.

There has never been a more dangerous time to stay the same. We all must grow to improve, we must embrace change fully or life never improves for us, however uncomfortable that change may be.

To make the most of opportunities, we must start to take them without questioning them so much, we must learn to have trust in what we are doing more, we must learn to trust the process more, we must learn to have patience that although the process is often longer than we hoped for, we WILL get there no matter whatever your goals in life, and all of this change is for the better creating an even better future.

Taking responsibility for your daily actions means you will develop into a greater leader and others will follow you. When you take full responsibility, you are likely to do your best, and leave as positive a mark as possible.

If you have kids, they are looking at your habits and they will likely follow you.

If you exercise, they will be encouraged to workout and being active will be important to you as a family.

If you eat healthily, then they will treat having healthy food in the house as second nature and accept it as the right way to eat and to get energy.

If you act positive, take positive action and look at the positive side of situations, most people around you will be encouraged to take your side and share your optimism.

Your daily performance reflects what your beliefs really are. If you want to be energetic, positive, chase down results, achieve more things every day, be a positive influence, then exercise and eating right are key elements in all of these positive things.

All of these things mentioned already point to a more enjoyable, productive existence and show the difference your life can make to others if you lead it in a positive way backed up by positive actions.

None of us will get fit at exactly the same rate, some will go slower, some faster depending on how much work they put into it, but EVERYONE is capable of getting fitter and healthier than they have ever done before.

If you show up and exercise a minimum of three times a week, then good things will happen for you, because you are exposing your body to the right amount of stimulus to improve.

If you aim long term to eat well 80% of the time, still enjoying occasional treats which is realistic, then your body will look after you and high energy levels will return to your life.

The main reason i find that individuals improve quicker than others is consistency of doing the right things. I find that it often doesn’t matter how physically gifted some people are, it’s the person that’s willing to work the hardest over a long period of time will always be the highest achiever.

The biggest enhancer of progress that can happen for you is realising that mindset is the secret link, your “x factor”, your most powerful weapon in all of this coming together.

Staying on course is often dictated by how focused you are and your willingness to do the simple things right time after time. After your initial “honeymoon” period of starting training, you will soon realise that staying on your programme brings some challenges, and the sooner you bring an achievable structure to your lifestyle the better.

Just like booking an appointment with the doctor or dentist, make time for your workouts three times a week. Find a time that nothing can get in the way of. Once you get used to training, you will be more productive in all areas of your life, for the time you invest in every training session will be rewarded many times over.

When you do your food shopping, make sure most of it is healthy, as everything you bring into your house will get eaten, bring multipack crisps or chocolate bars in and they WILL get eaten. Nothing wrong with treats here and there but the foundation of what you eat needs to be good. You can’t out-train a bad diet.

For your mind, reading positive books or media everyday helps a lot. The biggest thing of all is to surround yourself with positive people and influences. Avoid those who drag you down and put you off trying to better yourself. Trust opinions of those who are experienced and have a track record in what you are interested in-A much quicker way of seeking advice.

Stay consistent, stay positive and try your best to stay on the path you set yourself when you first dreamt up what you really want out of your health and fitness programme.

Here’s a massive transition in terms of terminology you need to make, and the sooner you make it the better.

Doing “cardio” is often seen as the “let’s finish off by burning the fat off” part.

Unfortunately, this is not true. The true fat burning is done in your strength training in workout 1, and all your movement exercises in workout 2, and whilst the air assault bike, rower, ski machine, etc are very valuable and DO burn fat, they alone are not responsible for your massive results. One pound of fat burns 2 calories a day, one pound of lean muscle tissue burns 35 calories day-that’s a powerful fact right there about developing lean muscle, talk about raising your metabolism!!!

ALL of your exercises matter. If you didn’t do strength work, then you wouldn’t re-shape your body, not be able to burn as much calories at rest or fight against osteoporosis. Our weights workouts get you out of breath too, that’s why we only rest 30 seconds in between sets, it challenges you in ALL ways.

If you didn’t do your running on the ladders up the hill, or with bulgarian bags up the hill, or hit the prowlers hard, hit the steps etc, you wouldn’t get so out of breath and you heart and lungs wouldn’t be in such great shape.

If you didn’t do all our movement work in workout 2, you again wouldn’t burn so much fat, you wouldn’t be so flexible and ready for anything in sports etc. You get fundamentally strong doing this workout in all ways, and it can be deeply exhausting to do.

We are proud of all our balance work, they add an amazing amount to your all round ability, make you so much stronger on your feet, hit your core so much harder, create a much stronger back, hips and hamstrings and take a lot of stress off your back full stop. You will never develop such a strong core without balance work.

Our programmes are designed to be all rounders, working every single area and keeping your progress going strong everywhere, instead of being just good at weights or cardio, you NEED EVERYTHING so let’s embrace it.

See our programmes as huge fat burning furnaces, building massive strength levels, amazing heart and lungs capacity and being much stronger on your feet AND OFF your feet. See your programme as getting you ready for ANYTHING, creating huge energy levels and giving you all your inner self-confidence back that you may have thought long gone.

Let’s do it!

Tuesday, 16th February

Going “all in” means total commitment. Going all in means you are likely to achieve what you put your mind to if you give it enough time, and you do something positive each and every day to bring you closer to your goals.

“All in” isn’t something you do “sometimes”, or something you do when you just “feel like it”.

You need to jump in with all your heart if you really want to accomplish your best work. If you take 5 axe swings every day at a tree, no matter how big, tough or stubborn the tree is, then the tree will always fall eventually. If you take 5 positive actions every day, then sure enough you will achieve exactly what you set out to do, and usually a lot more!

You need to get into a mindset that it’s impossible to fail, that as long as you take enough action consistently every day, then nothing is beyond your grasp.
Once you get into this mindset, it will break any feeling of not wanting to do anything or frustration you may have that you’re not accomplishing what you really want.

If you get into a mindset of throwing yourself into your programme, then opportunities will open up for you to do even more, your body and brain will accommodate your efforts and recognise you are constantly aiming to get better and better.

Progress is achieved one step at a time. First one is getting yourself on a programme. Then you learn it. Then you get used to it and then you thrive on it.

Our motto is that you always move forward with your exercise programme, you always need to be tested in a different way, you always need to find new ways of strengthening your weaknesses, and a new challenge every day keeps your mind fresh, and tells your body it needs to constantly adapt.

This way progress becomes a daily part of your life, and it becomes impossible to fail because you’re finally giving it everything you’ve got!!
