Tuesday, 22nd December

This time of year makes you realise that it’s the ideal time to improve your fitness. Gyms are usually a lot quieter this time of year, and suddenly you have a lot more room and time to “get good’ at those things you may have been putting off for a long time.

This is the time to “experiment” between what makes you feel good and what sucks the energy out of you.

You will soon realise that an exercise session, however short, will automatically bring your energy levels back to life and make you feel alive again.

You must know of many gym-goers who right now are having time off, planning a whole array of over the top meals (pizza and chips etc) on a daily basis, along with setting records for most boxes of chocolates consumed.

This is the time you get to know you body. If you are still exercising on a regular basis, you will notice how eating and drinking badly will affect your performance in the gym.

Eating rubbish “party” food for example, will immediately hit your performance, make you feel nauseous at times in your workout and usually hit your strength workouts too. Eating this kind of food immediately makes you crave good quality “clean” food straight after your workout, which is yet another reason to keep on training.

Nothing wrong with having a blow out over christmas, but turning it into a two week or even one month all out blowout will mean only one thing.

Once you get back to training in january, not only won’t you have any energy, drive or your usual ambition, but your immune system will be down too. You will be susceptible to colds and other illnesses (this is why there are far more adverts by drug companies for their products such as lemsip etc this time of year) which will further detract you from your “recover after christmas” efforts.

If you just stay more active, get more fresh air, and keep a core of healthy foods and snacks amonsgt the unavoidable treats, then you wont go far wrong and stay strong into the new year.

Losing or gaining motivation.

Every single person i have ever trained has struggled with their motivation from time to time. We are human after all, and not robots.

Do me one favour, remember how you looked and felt when you first started, and compare it to now-is there a difference? Please answer honestly!! I think the answer usually will blow your mind.

The best words i have just heard again from a book i am listening to are the best SEVEN words i have ever heard. DON’T GIVE UP. DON’T EVER GIVE UP. It’s easy to give up, but much harder to get up when you are knocked down. The most successful stories have always been those who have been knocked down, then got back up again several times and finally succeeded and achieved their dreams.

When you feel and look good, you are usually positive mentally and aim big. If you don’t exercise, then you won’t have anywhere near as much energy, you wont be as ambitious and you will not so have as high goals.

Sometimes things will happen in your day that will crush your enthusiasm, sometimes your wellbeing will be taken to a whole new level and you will feel out of this world good!!

Here’s what i am in the business of doing-giving you short and particularly long term plans that work. We never give you faddy, short term ways of doing things, that usually end up failure. I have been in this game a long time, and i plan on being it the rest of my life, so i don’t want to short change anyone. We passionately believe we are doing things the right way, and the results back it up.

We want you to be injury free, at healthier levels of body fat, feeling tighter than ever with a great lung capacity. We are currently creating a huge group of new runners who thought they could NEVER run-now that is becoming possible.

Every day all of you inspire by doing the things i thought you couldn’t do this soon. I was so thrilled last night when we have a big group of runners hit one of the biggest ever dunes in terms of steepness and difficultly, and EVERY single on of you did it!!!

What is more, two of you are over 50 years of age, with SERIOUS KNEE ISSUES or used to be, and climbed it with the rest of the group, AND RAN BACK, that i was very inspired by!!!

It’s easy to talk yourself down, to say you’re struggling mentally-WE ALL DO from time to time. I like to talk ourselves up though, the opportunities we have, the opportunities to come in the future too, and all the inspiring messages i get off plenty of people i don’t even know, saying how radically inspired they have become by watching videos of all of you, and all of the transformation pictures!!!

You are either going forwards or backwards, there’s nothing in between. Aim high, believe in yourself, aim for self-improvement daily, there’s no other way!!!

Monday, 27th July

I am always excited by monday’s from a training perspective!!

You have heard me say a thousand times how it sets you up for the week, and it’s never been more true than right now!!

If you have been out already this morning, then you will know exactly how we are feeling right now. Unbelievable wind and freshness for a july morning meant us getting woken up in a big way, and firing us up for a massive performance throughout.

So it’s monday PM and i am feeling very revved up, very fired up about the possibilities to come this week, and the prospects of great results happening all the way throughout the week!!

It’s at this time of day i am making sure i am getting my own nutrition right, ready for another big night in the gym, along with it’s own unique demands.

There’s all the workouts to get through in the gym, pushing individuals through to new highs hopefully, and things they previously thought they couldn’t do, AND then we have a massive outside session at 615pm!!!

Tonight is going to be huge and i am looking forward to taking you all onto another level. another place where you haven’t been before in terms of physical performance, and one where we again start the WEEK OFF IN THE RIGHT WAY!!!

This environment, this attitude, this mindset means that WE ALL benefit through massive results, through massive positivity improvement and we know that all of these results are SUSTAINABLE, which is totally what we are after.

Keep eating right, stay healthy and let’s look for so much more yet again!!!!

Tuesday, 5th May

Visualisation is the first key to a successful future.

The best way to predict the future is to see it and then create it by doing it.

The hurdles and challenges we face are sometimes very tough, but being able to see what is ahead unleashes your ability to persevere and come out on top.

All of the success stories we have had have involved a lot of courage, a lot of bouncing back when all seemed lost, and usually meant carrying on even when it was easier to quit.

The best success stories involved the word RESILIENCE. The word resilience comes from a latin word “resilire”. It means “back” and “leap”. When we are resilient, we LEAP BACK up after getting knocked down.

If we are unable to rebound from setbacks and disappointments, we will never be able to reach our true potential.

We can do one of two things when adversity crosses our path.

We can view our life as if we are in pit, as if the rug has been pulled underneath us, and we’re in this deep hole we can’t get out of.

Or we can maintain our clear vision of what our life is about, how we want our bodies and minds to be again, and harness that adversity to take us to higher ground again.

If we have a strong and clear enough picture of what we want to become, if we feel it in our hearts and with reason in our minds, we can and will overcome anything.

If we view life as constantly looking forward, it means our greatest work and contribution is always ahead of us.

Sunday, 23rd November

It’s always great to talk about being successful all the time, but often you learn more when you don’t succeed all the time, when you don’t win every time, and when you stick with it when it would be far easier to give up.

Learning from our mistakes is all important, and being able to climb out of a hole is character building, and makes you a far stronger person.

Our most successful members have a real “life story” to tell, how they overcame adversity, many hit rock bottom and somehow they managed to fight again, find new resolve, dig very deep and start climbing out of a very bad place. These individuals become leaders who constantly encourage other members.

These life stories inspire me and all of us every day, and having brand new examples on a daily basis of how someone has become successful using real life strategies helps us encourage and develop others, so they become the next real life success story.

Putting continuous effort into getting into shape isn’t for everyone, because it is hard work, often requires you to dig deep, and makes you look at yourself far more deeply than you ever thought, it’s then you really see what you are made of.

Being humble and never giving up despite everything else going on at the same time are the most valuable traits you can develop.

Setbacks are going to happen along the way in your fitness and health journey, but if you keep putting the effort in no matter what, everything soon turns around and you will always make a strong comeback as long as you keep an eye on the finish line.

We have no “show offs” or “posers” at the gym, we have no room for people who don’t want to encourage others, a very positive environment is vital to lead others to success, and help everyone fulfil their true potential to create a huge quality of life in every area.
