Raise the bar

The very fact that you are individual makes you different in the way you do things, the way you approach things and the way you think about things. You should celebrate this fact!!!

Who wants to be bland and not make an impact on anything? I certainly don’t and you shouldn’t either!!!

Just because you may not be as strong as others, don’t worry about it. Chances are that if you STICK at it, you soon will and will pass many people along the way!

It’s time to get outside season. If you don’t fancy the ladders because you don’t think you’re not any good at it, then just plug away at it, keep learning the technique, i’d put money on it that EVERY time you practice it, you WILL get a little better. Give it a month, and just watch how great you become on it, i have seen this endless times so let’s start to think big!!!

We are a different gym and celebrate that. We don’t want to be like anyone else, we want to do it our way and celebrate the completely different array of personalities and abilities we have too. This is what makes it fun, why we all support each other and ultimately why we can all learn from each other.

Each and every one of you has the option to be great at every single area of training we do. That is entirely within your power, just give it enough practice and you will become good, that i can guarantee you.

Celebrate the fact that you came into the gym with no speed, and now you have it!!

Celebrate you had no strength to start with, now you are strong as an ox!!

Celebrate you may have had low self-esteem to start with, no confidence or self-belief. Now look at the changes and the big upside on all of these that are happening right now!!!!
Everyone is completely different, celebrate it and we love having the challenge of changing all of you, no matter what your level is, what your ability is right now, and how great you all want to become!!! Come on, be different and excel in your training and become the best you can possibly be………….and then raise the bar yet again!!!!

The hardest part of being successful at anything is CONSISTENCY. This separates the ones that are continually successful and get to achieve what they set out to do, and those who flounder every time.
New year has long gone, and filling in your weekly goal sheet again may be the best thing you do over the next 24 hours (just been sent out).

Your mind will make you succeed and triumph, or make you quit and fold like a pack of cards, and blame yourself that somehow you weren’t “good enough” for whatever reason.

Decide to make this week another strong one, as it’s totally within your power. Whether you’re running a marathon or you want to recover from a lifetime of ill health, you have to keep making the right decisions that are going to take you closer to your goals.

No time to moan that monday morning is coming, as it’s the most vital workout of the week to set the tone for the rest of the week. Set your standards high, fight through the fog that appears from time to time, and CHOOSE to hit it harder than you’ve ever done before!

Finding your vocation in life is important to many of you, and numerous members have chased their dreams with relentless pursuit over the last couple of years.

One thing’s for sure though when you set out to get what you want-you need to be fit and healthy to put in the hours needed to achieve what you want.

Here’s a simple fact, most people work 7-8 hours day. The world is full of people who are willing to work that much, to get ahead though (especially in the beginning), you’re going to have to work more, a lot more in many cases to transform your vocation into a career for example (often 6-7 days a week for most).

In terms of your workouts, you have to be prepared to put the work in, not in more workouts hours, but more intensity over a sustained period of time.

Working out smart, working out with real purpose, working out with even bigger performances each week, make ALL the difference. When you come into the gym, give it everything and you need to let loose your talents and fulfil your potential every time!!

So whatever you want to get good at, your job, a career change you’ve always wanted, a business you’ve always dreamt of, a stronger mindset you always needed, a stronger more balanced body, recovering from serious injury, or whatever it may be, you need to put the work IN, say to yourself that you’re in it for the long haul NO MATTER what, you will start to LOVE all the hard work, and you WILL succeed because you’re prepared to work harder than ANYONE else!!!

Getting fired up will become a habit if you have deep down reasons why you want to create real long lasting change, and prove it to yourself that you can be the incredible success you deserve to be!!!

Achievements always have much more meaning when they are earned over the longer term, rather than achieved in “five minutes”.

You think about educational qualifications, all of them take time (the real ones anyway). There’s a massive difference between studying a subject in depth over a long period (and continue to commit to ongoing education), rather than completing a weekend course and suddenly you claim you are an “expert” in it. Deep down, the “do it in a weekend” courses will never give you the satisfaction of knowing you have studied your passion for years and years. Plus you are far more likely to last in your chosen field.

Fame is like that now, many people are “famous” for not actually doing anything meaningful. As the great chat show king Michael Parkinson said “if you were famous, the reason was you achieved something memorable and had done something meaningful”! Deep down, the 5 minute “celebrities” know they couldn’t hold a candle to those who have strived to create proud achievements with their lives (and usually not constantly craved attention through a PR agent). This is why they are gone in 5 minutes too.

Physical achievements always take a while to get, because it involves the completion of multiple small goals that compound on one another to achieve one massive improvement, and this will take time no question about it. You can bet your life though that all that blood, sweat and tears will give you infinitely more satisfaction doing it the right, sustainable way for life. One goal leads to another and your journey of self-improvement (both physically AND mentally NEVER ends).

Compare that with yo-yo dieting, taking diet pills, going on yet another faddy diet (social media/newspapers are full of them right now), using gimmicky ways of exercise (often leading to injury or little progress long term), false promises of “this time it’s different” etc etc. Bottom line is you WILL lose weight but ALWAYS put it back on and 5% more (scientific studies back this up) and make your body less receptive to the next “wonder system”.

Doing things the sensible, changing your lifestyle for the long term always works, makes sure you avoid the soul-destroying “crash and burn” way of trying to improve your health, and ultimately gives you far more pride, fulfilment and satisfaction that you are on the right path for a lifetime.

Many of you through writing down and really thinking deep down about your goals, have come into the new year with renewed enthusiasm and power. This is renewed sense of purpose too, and a sense of exactly what you need to do to take you up to that extra level you have always wanted to get to.

The results after the new year are happening earlier this year, which is very exciting for us as the gym has very real momentum already.

Those of you who haven’t measured this yet should expect very big changes by the end of the month. With a strong sense of purpose, hitting all time highs in performance and good habits with your nutrition, your results are bound to surprise you in a very good way.

Now’s your time to keep your focus, to stay strong, keep filling in your goals/journal to chart your progress, and keep striving for ways to get better each and every week.

We have one more week left of this programme, so aim for a massive week again. Then it all changes again into a brand new programme. Seize the moment and your chance to have your best ever year no matter where you are right now in terms of performance and how much you’ve achieved in the past!!!
