Thursday, 20th December

Nothing will make you exercise today, tomorrow, next week, and most days unless you have a strong enough reason to do it-Straight from the heart.

Lots of us feel solace when it comes to exercise, we feel more comfortable again, we feel stronger mentally, and use it as a way of crushing our daly pressures and stress.

The by product of course is looking better but everything must start from the heart, because that will keep you going in darker times and when you feel like giving up at the first hurdle.

In your head, you can pretend that you don’t need to exercise but deep down in your heart you know that is the big lie you keep telling yourself.

In your head sometimes we pretend we get too old to do things, reflecting on how things “used to be” and how good they were in the past, but we cannot do them now.

In our hearts though, we know that if we get our behinds off the settee every day, there is a strong chance that better, more exciting times lie ahead of us again, all we need is to keep showing up.

It’s sad to think that many think our best days are behind us, when so many people prove us wrong on a daily basis.

As we get older we get wiser. History should show us that in the past we felt amazing at times. If you analyse our habits at those times though, it shows clearly we gave more time to exercise, gave more time to having fun and gave more time to dreaming of endless possibility and trying new things.

After speaking to so many people older than me at the gym on a daily basis, and how they are still leaving their comfort zone every day, and telling me how incredible life is for them right now, I’m more convinced than ever to encourage every single person with us not to just relive their past levels of happiness, but to live brand new stories of joy, happiness and fulfilment worth telling even more stories about in the future.

All starts with your health and MUST come from your heart.

Tuesday, 18th December

Be very careful of the story you tell yourself.

If you tell yourself you aren’t worthy of happiness, then despite initial success, you will do anything you can to self-sabotage that success. Sounds stupid but it’s true.

I went through many stages and years when I didn’t believe I was worthy of any success, and if I was, it wouldn’t last long. After all, there were plenty of people who wrote me off, often telling me straight to my face that this fitness things was a “fad” and would never last. I wouldn’t be writing this now if I accepted their opinion.

Some people got visibly upset at me still persevering, still being around and still picking up clients only made their jobs worse.

I faced multiple snide remarks when I was out, and blatant rudeness and laughter at me trying to earn a living at this. The more I rose, the more laughter and bitterness I heard and felt.

The strategy that helped me most was not to put myself in situations that I would face baseless, often nasty and upsetting criticism.

If I was going to go out on a Saturday and inevitably bump into so called “friends”, who would continually ask difficult and bitter questions about my career choice, then nights out would soon become a misery.

The choice to remove myself out of these situations soon paid dividends. I would soon concentrate on my work ahead, and doing my best for people, they would be my judge, and NOT people who only wanted me to fail.

My internal story changed. No longer was negativity hitting me like a train every day, I filled myself with hope and hard work, and seeing where it would lead.

So at our gym, you haven’t got one person who hates your success, you only have people who want to give you a leg up, and we have built our culture entirely on that. You have a huge HEADSTART!!!

You haven’t got an army of people who doesn’t want you to fail, and I want you to LOVE your success, then build on it some more, because I know deep down what you can really do, and the deep pride that will give you affecting all areas of your life in a massively positive way.

I want you to know that we are very much behind you, and strongly encourage you all to live your own success story, keep avoiding the negativity that is always around, pick your company very carefully, and never stop and enjoy your ride and the great places it will surely take you.

Monday, December 24th

Right now is my peak of energy, adrenalin, motivation and fulfilment of my day.

I am able to make better decisions, benefit from more energy, thrive in positivity, and live with more ambition for the entire week.

The secret recipe that allows this, is to do with the people you hang out with all day and the energy you receive from them. So today, and every day I benefit immensely from the energy each and every one of you give.

Putting yourself in the right “state” of mind is critical to getting things done in your week. The better your mental state, then the more achievable big exciting challenges become.

Feed your brain daily positivity and things you previously thought out of touch now become doable.

If you aren’t exercising, then the confidence to take on challenges and seize the moment won’t be there.

You will put up barriers in front of you such as “I’ve worked a long shift” even though the gym is open long after you finished work. No job is easy anymore, but you have to raise yourself out of the attitude that somehow you have it tougher than anyone else.

Change the self-pity for self-improvement. Do what you need to do, start throwing around some weights, smash that negativity into your training, and by the time you leave on your way out, your brain will have changed radically and in a positive way.

Life will look different I promise you. Do it often enough and you will literally change your life.

There are moments that come along in life when you have to go for it. Keep missing opportunities and you eventually lose your ability to put your hand up anymore, and you become the person who holds back, and lives life in the sidelines and shadows.

Love what choices you have in life daily, grab them with both hands and make the best of what you have in life. It’s the only way to be happy, and live life on your terms.

Monday, December 17th

It’s a fact that when you think of certain people in the gym who are always ultra-positive in the gym, you want to be around them more, to soak up the good vibes. We are very fortunate to have many of these, and it becomes infectious.

These people only offer solutions to problems, and offer to help you out anytime. What would it take you to become the most positive person you know? We all need work on this and it’s something for all of us to think about.

First proper week of the new programme starts tomorrow. Are you going to try coasting it or are you going to build on everything you have done this year, and finish the year on top of the world and feeling amazing full of pride?

It’s a choice and YOU are control of it.

You have been given these gifts that you are in good physical shape and can show up to our gym regularly, so even more is expected of you. Don’t settle for where you are, aim higher and reach for more within yourself.

Everything exciting happens when you leave your comfort zone. We all like doing the same thing because it doesn’t take much thought.

The times we have to make what we do better scares us sometimes, but ultimately takes us to a new level of fulfilment, pride  and satisfaction deep within us.

These hard choices give us an EASY life.

If you make easy choices, and don’t get anything done or have given up on yourself, then prepare for a HARD life.

The more you invest in your health and anything else in life, you get it back in spades.

Last week before Christmas, what’s your choices looking like?
