When looking to get up this hill today, I know I couldn’t put rubbish into my body 80% of the time, or I would cough and splutter and admit defeat.
When looking for energy, strength, HEALING your body after exercise, making sure you are fit, healthy and mobile into old age, the food you put in makes ALL the difference.
Nothing wrong with an occasional treat, but most of what you put in HAS to be good and as natural as possible.
I remember a sweet called “Bon bon’s” growing up. Full of sugar, but they tell me “low in fat”. Some even said they were “good for you” with pursed lips, as if that would make it more “believable”.
By the way crunchy nut corn flakes are “low fat” but also full of sugar but it won’t get me up the hill or help me recover even if I can.
It makes me laugh when people go on about foods being “______ free” even though the food could be full of chemicals and other rubbish. None of that rubbish gets you up this hill, helps your body heal and recover or gives you any feeling of wellbeing.
You CAN’T OUT-TRAIN A BAD DIET!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jam sandwiches are even recommended by some “coaches”, let’s see how that plays out long term. I’m not talking about endurance races here, I’m talking about every day life and living well and feeling well.
Excess sugar over time will lead to diabetes, create painful inflammation in your body, lead to substantial weight gain which brings a multitude of health related illnesses and diseases.
Make a decision to eat right today and every day because you will never “trick” your body into accepting foods full of chemicals and sugar are somehow “good for you” or get you to raise your physical performance in any area of life..
