When we settle into routine, our life tends to evolve into what we repeatedly do. New year’s resolutions may be rife, but habits that stick usually take far longer than the end of January when most resolutions collapse and fail at the first hurdle.

The most powerful reason short term on why we do things is to feel better.

Nobody likes feeling down, nobody likes feeling rock bottom on energy and down on themselves in mood, nobody likes feeling pain when moving their body and most of us would do anything to get out of this vicious circle.

If you focus on getting better every day, move bit more every day, eat a little better every day, drink a bit more water every day, hit the sack a bit earlier every day (you will more likely feel like it because you will be training hard), then these habits always mean you eventually escape the vicious circle you found yourself in, and then your habits take you to a place because “what you repeatedly” do is transforming you on all fronts.

Your routine is everything, your habits are everything, and although they won’t be perfect straight away after christmas, the quicker you get into the whole process of change and add small changes along the way, the quicker you will feel better, perform better and make all areas of your life better in all ways.
