Day 29

Wow, doesn’t day 29 sound a long time! It does for some of you maybe too, and it does make you realise that life doesn’t always go to plan, things don’t work out right sometimes, and sometimes you’re simply chasing your tail to stand still!

What i have noticed mor e and more over the last couple of weeks is a true secret to success. After studying people who are successful, and seeing what really makes a difference in their lives, i have noticed a key thing.

Most if not all of us are faced with key decisions and trivial decisions throughout the week. If anyone had any valentine chocolates yesterday, and you had one, was it possible to stop at one? Very hard task wouldn’t you agree?

What happens when we are feeling down, is it possible sometimes that we are bought a cake, or some junk to cheer us up? Hasn’t that happened more than a few times to all of us?

What about when we are in the supermarket, we think sometimes “oh go on then” to a certain piece of fast food we never think we are ever going to eat? But then we eat it a couple of days later!!! Ever happened to you?

What about when we promised ourselves that great workout the weekend, and somethings comes up and we never get to do it, has that ever happened to you? And have you noticed once you cancel one workout, how easy it becomes to cancel a few of them, simply writing it off as “one of those things”!

What i am talking about here is those split second decisions that wreck our ambitions at times, seemingly meaningless decisions but they can create a negative pattern when we are trying to get into top shape!

What about then when we eat less well, we actually become less well. When we workout less well or not at all, we become less well and that’s a fact.

I have said before about the old saying “its in the moments of indecision that your destiny is shaped”. Never has it been more true when you think about it. Just look at all of those moments i have listed at the start of this post, and they potentially happen to all of us every day or certainly at least once or twice a week.

Guess what happens when you don’t make the right decisions constantly? You develop NO momentum, and this hammers your progress! Momentum is critical.

It sounded a simple plan didn’t it when we first started? Implementing it is easier said than done, it all starts with the first steps again so if you have been derailed lately, its time to get back onboard and getting the basics a big part of your life again.

Life is too short for excuses so stop kidding yourself. You have it in you to be your best, time to do it right now!

  1. Yes Yes Yes Keri. Spot on!!
I have managed to keep the momentum going for the past fortnight
and have lost 5lbs. Because of that I am even more determined to
keep it going. I have let myself relax SO MANY times before and not
had the conviction that I can do it. Somehow, those feelings have gone
and I can honestly say that I am now convinced in my ability to succeed!
Hope I am not jinxing myself here!!
