We go on all the time about how exercises makes us feel better a few hours afterwards, and the energy we create through it. Why should that energy stop though straight after you exercise?

Exercise should empower us to take action the rest of our day.

Most people complain about getting up in the morning, some are frantically searching for a quote to post on social media about how bad their day is going to be. It doesn’t take a genius to work out what kind of day is going to pan out for them.

A bad idea is to switch on your phone or computer immediately when you get up. A negative message can instantly put you in a mood, and get you tied up doing things that only waste your time. Keep them off until you have exercised.

The quickest way to change the way you feel straight after you get up is to move more. Going out for a walk is a great example, going for a run for those of you a little fitter but a walk works fine. If you stuck with your kids and can’t go out, pick 5 simple exercises and get breathing harder as you work harder, you WILL feel better AND feel more positive too.

20 minutes of exercise will change the way you view the world in the morning, and give you crucial thinking time on how you will approach your day. Some of my best thoughts come early in the morning whilst i am moving.

To avoid not acting on those good ideas, we need to write them down-immediately when we get in. Write down at least two things that you need to do that day, and make sure this time they get done no matter what.

Writing them down makes you much more likely to actually do them, and not put them off. Keeping a journal and writing is the difference between talking a good game and actually getting things done. No point blaming anyone else but yourself as most people have the same opportunities, and it’s consistent action that will lead to change, not one off good days.

Exercise will be your fuel to create the ultimate positive start to your day and make those days count, will make you more positive mentally to overcome negative people during your day, and give you the motivation to keep repeating it because of the success you are very likely to get.
