We all try to encourage our kids, our grandkids, and we all love to see them active. That encouragement can often work wonders, give people opportunities and great things can happen over time.
What happens when we forget ourselves though?
We won’t let others quit but why do we often quit on ourselves easily?
Do we realise how much influence we have on others, the kids, the grandkids? Have we forgotten how much they look up to us? How much they get inspired by our actions and maybe how much let down they feel if we stop having a go too?
Our activity levels were often great as a child, but when we left school they may well have plummeted. Then we can have purple patches, times when we are very active, we become proud of ourselves again and we feel huge energy in our lives again.
Then there’s the blips, times when wet ave lay offs, we stop trying, we eat and drink lots of junk and empty calories, piling on weight, having no energy and we become too scared to have a go again.
Feeling good every day should be our right, BUT we have to keep working on it, have to stay in the fight ALWAYS, and sometimes do a workout even when we don’t even feel like it, because often that will be the difference between keeping great habits up that enrich our lives and quitting again when it needn’t have been that way at all.
Stay strong, stay in the game and keep exercising not only to help inspire loved ones, but to help yourself too stay healthy and never go down the slippery slope of ill health.
