Best bit of advice I would ever give is to take your opportunities and create a strong foundation. Too many people wait “until the time is perfect”, conditions are “just right”, or “I will wait until next month” but next month never usually comes.

Many people want things “yesterday” and this is guaranteed to never get meaningful results.

Whether you want to get fit and healthy, set up a business, go for promotion or whatever it is, take steps today to set you off on the path, but DO NOT wait for anyone’s approval first.

Strong foundations and doing things the right way matter though big time.

How’s your fitness plan going? Will you fall for the endless social media “get fit” “get ripped” plans in 2-3 weeks? Doing exercises that will destroy your back that some fitness model “oiled up” is demonstrating?

How about buying powders and pills that speed up your heart and never educate you on eating sensibly? Really? Surely you know you can do better than that and won’t fall for these fads? You will end up richer if you don’t fall for them and internally healthier too.

There is not substitute for changing your eating slowly, developing habits over time that stick, eating real healthy food, and learning to train properly taking into account your bad back, knee or any other ailments you have.

I’m not saying set up a business without any foundation as that could be disastrous. You NEED to start getting a strong foundation by learning as much as you can, and committing to life long learning for the rest of your life, there’s no other way.

Business is not about leasing a new car/van straight away and looking good, it’s not telling everyone how good you are, it’s about working harder than you have ever done before, every day until you start creating something that offers value to others and being humble about it, and be prepared it WILL take years and years. Do a good job for others and your business will grow.

Strong foundations matter above everything else. Be prepared to work hard, hep others and do your best each and every day.

Every time, the champion is the one who gets up every time they are knocked down, and when you don’t think they can do it anymore, they pump themselves one more time, often for a stunning victory.

If you hit the gym sometimes “not feeling it”, and everyone has been through this, then you must go anyway. Chances are that the first tough exercise will change your body chemistry, will change the way you feel, and give your system a much needed shock and ultimately, a big boost.

The champion within you, and it is there, is waiting to come out strong and tell the world how great you can be.

The problem starts when you attempt something and it doesn’t work. Then the next time you have a go, and are partially successful but then fail. The key moment is to KEEP trying until you get there. Success WILL come.

The programme this morning included some uncomfortable choices- exercises you may have thought better to avoid. You know though that we are a full inclusive gym that says anyone can do this, and you are indeed included in this. Most if not all exercises can be done by you.

You wouldn’t tell your kids that if they failed their first test in school not to bother again surely? You would encourage them to try again, prepare better maybe, seek a bit more personal coaching to show you how to do it step by step, THIS is how you get better.

So the road to you becoming a champion is getting back up again, having another go, learning from your mistakes and coming back stronger. This is where true character develops and we all believe in you no matter how many times it takes.

Day one of the new programme, that uncertainty is back in your mind, that level of doubt is there, “can I do it this time” you ask? Absolutely, definitely 10 times over you can so let’s dig deep and hit it hard!!!

Saturday, 19th August

Here’s what i’m thinking early saturday morning, after a great wedding yesterday with gym members Phil Watts and now Jodie Watts, i need to get into “personal routine” before the sun rises.

This next hour is crucial for me to feel better, to get a sweat on and feel huge energy through my body again. Weddings are great, but they do nothing for you energy the next day.

YOUR personal routine must be permanently in operation or everything will suffer.

Don’t excuse yourself from your next day walk, run, cycle of whatever you choose to do. Don’t excuse yourself from putting high energy into your body through food.

If you are aching this morning, moving more is going to help you, don’t ever forget that. Under no circumstances, will moving less on a regular basis help you, it just won’t.

You may have a bad knee, a bad shoulder but there’s stuff you can do, work around the pain instead of through it. Move forward with purpose, tell yourself that you want more from your life, tell your body that you won’t accept limited movement anymore.

Set your goals high, set them big, and here’s the big one to think about-YOU WON’T THINK BIG AND CLEARLY WITHOUT having exercised first. I know when I get back from my run, i’m going to come back even more fired up than I am right now, my body will feel better, I will have had more deep thinking, most of all I will feel myself again and super focused for this weekend, and the week upcoming for our new programme (which I need to finish off!}.

Get your personal routine right, and your whole day looks and feels better. Get your personal routine right and everyone around you benefits, your family, your friends and everyone who has to spend time with you.

Use your time very wisely but make sure you get your start to the day right and enjoy its vast rewards!
