Takeaways and eating out is “fun” until you start eating them too often, and your blood pressure goes up, your weight goes up, your clothes don’t fit anymore, your body aches and pains more.

The “fun” may have been fun while it lasted, but you may have dug yourself into a hole now.Having a couple of glasses of wine/a few beers to “relieve the stress”, done a bit too often may have worked until your blood pressure rose, you piled on weight, you started having wild mood swings, you couldn’t be bothered to do much.

Good food is meant to be enjoyed but when you add a ton of salt to your cooking, your blood pressure can raise, you can feel bloated, and although food may taste a little nicer, was it worth the salt destroying your health over time and being on tablets for the foreseeable?

Kind of like having sugar in your coffee, nice but you know there’s going to be a price with your health long term. You may be training well but you CANNOT OUT-TRAIN A BAD DIET!!!!!

People may hate it but my duty is to tell the truth.

I have trained a huge amount of people who have turned it around, ditched those habits and lived much better lives. Nothing wrong with a treat occasionaly of course not, but when done regularly, THAT is the killer!!Make the choice BUT be honest with yourself.

Comparison but can be a killer….and an inspiration.

When you are unfit and in pain, the person next to you at the gym may be flying along and making life look easy, IT’S NOT, they went through the SAME pain themselves, faced the same struggles but somehow kept going (even when some told them not to), they didn’t settle for fads and gimmicks, they kept their heads down and got big results instead over time.Don’t compare yourself to them right now, but you can greatly close the gap if you are prepared to show up, work hard, inch by inch get a little better each week and if you stay with it, you will eventually become the one that people want to be in fitness terms, when the next beginner starts and wonders “will I ever become that fit and healthy”?!!

!The best time to get fit was probably a few months ago or even a few years ago but the next best time is TODAY.

Don’t have any regrets about the past, just concentrate on how you can get better right now, live in the moment and give it everything you have and big rewards will always come.

Wednesday, 8th March

The snow has almost disappeared but the many great members who showed up this morning didn’t surprise me at all.

They are the ones who have achieved success over a number of years or/and are the ones starting to achieve undoubted success now. They GET what it’s all about.

They know the best results come from showing up regular, and they have done it so often it’s become a way of life for them.

A minimum attendance for success has to be THREE times, anything less and you often compromise your results, are not so strong in health terms and when you train less than three times, your performances don’t often move forward as much as you would hoped.I know some of you don’t always get to the gym 3 times, but you are ALWAYS doing something in between, an online session with us, a long walk, a trek, a bike ride, whatever-it’s always SOMETHING to fill in the tank.Science and experience tells us without doubt that our bodies AND minds DEPEND on the stimulus that exercise and eating right gives us, with the icing on the cake being great company that spurs us on to become better every time.

Success and good health is about toughing it often when we don’t even feel like it, light the match to amazing energy, drive, ambition and great health by getting your red t-shirt on and your trainers TODAY.

7th March-Old age doesn’t come alone

“Old age doesn’t come alone”-It doesn’t have to be that way.We were brought up with that saying.

Looking back when did people say “it’s time to down tools with their health, and think the “best days were behind them” and accept poor health. You would get plenty of people subscribing to that theory back in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s I remember.

BUT now there’s overwhelming scientific undeniable evidence you shouldn’t accept ageing as a barrier to anything, as long as you continue to work on your body and mind.In fact, many of our best performers at the gym are in the 60-90 age group, nobody wants to accept that “they are finished”, we all want live with a sense of purpose and be as active as possible with no limitations.

BUT we have to accept we can’t get away with eating like we did when we were 18, our nutrition counts more than ever.

Cut down the processed foods and sugar we put into our bodies, and most of the pain we are in would leave for good as well as many illnesses, carrying that extra weights kills our joints, energy levels, destroys mental health and often kills our hope for the future too-UNLESS we finally decide to change and be honest with ourselves.

We have to accept that we have to put our sessions in and not miss workouts for the slightest excuse, consistency matters more than ever as we age and if we want to get better qand live without pain, we need to commit to feeling better through exercising and eating right.

The social aspect of training boosts us more than we think, laughter, cpmpany, encouragement every day elevate us from someone who says “old age doesn’t come alone” to someone who thrives into the so called “senior years”.Our reality in life is deeply affected by the attitude we bring every single day, and actions speak louder than words, but NEVER EVER believe that old age is any barrier to living a very high quality of life, both in body and mind.

Monday, 6th March

We always talk about the GOOD things that come from starting the week right with a good workout (lots of you did this morning).

But what about the BAD things it takes away?

Joint pain eases every time you move, even when sometimes you don’t want to.Joint pain also goes over time when you don’t inflame your joints with inflammatory foods.

Any foods that are man made are guaranteed to do that, and foods that are high in sugar will definitely do that too.

You can double or triple the pain you are constantly in too if you continue this process, are not honest about how much you actually move, the sugar you actually eat, and the ever increasing weight you are piling on your body because of it.

Putting yourself in a NO FAIL environment is critical.Regular workouts with us at the gym or online with us.Putting food in your trolley that are natural and that will fuel and HEAL you, instead of inflaming your joints and give you zero energy.

Make yourself accountable by showing up, get measured and ask for help if you aren’t happy, acountability works because it gives you a real time situation of where you are now, and then you see what it needs to get out of that situation you may not be entirely happy with.We all need to be honest with ourselves at times, and Monday is the PERFECT day for it, the only way to happiness and the only way to make sure your health is in great order to cut down your chances of any nasty surprises down the line.
