Routines make us or break us.

When we think of it, even the thought of monday is enough to fill us with dread, but our preparation for monday is usually all over the place.

Our eating is not as regular on the weekend, we usually eat a little different too, we perhaps don’t drink as much water, and we don’t seem to move as much, leading to state of lethargy.

On top of that, our sleeping habits are usually quite different.

It’s only during monday we finally get back in the groove.

We eat better for breakfast, we drink more water, we plan to get a great workout in, our sleeping gets back to normal, we put great importance on eating better again, and we begin to feel ourselves again.

This is why monday is usually our toughest day but also the most reassuring because we realise how much our habits really dictate how well we feel and ultimately how we perform.

EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Can I pass on my gratitude to all the leaders and teachers (because you all help others more than you ever thought) at our gym.

Our message on CONSISTENCY has really hit home in a big way for so many of you over the last couple of weeks.

For those of you privately wondering why you don’t get the same results as others at the gym, it’s dawned on you that you miss too many workouts (I don’t want that to sound flippant either).

So guess what? You have showed up and you have realised how far you would have come if you stuck with it, but you ARE doing it now and you have learned one of life’s most valuable lessons.

If your health is not what it should be, are you showing up and working out with us? Or are you cancelling sessions to go out more with your friends instead of working out and justifying that regularly when you could have easily worked out first? Are you eating healthier or has someone convinced you that ultra-processed food is somehow fun and won’t destroy your health over time?

Are you watching too much TV instead of showing up? Are you an expert on all the plot lines of every popular TV show?

The last two weeks have seen MORE of you realise the power of consistency, the power of showing up to us, the power of working out online with us when you cant get to us (so many of you are super busy we know), and I have welcomed this news with enormous gratitude because we ALL love seeing you and yes working you to your capacity!!!!

Here’s a secret for you, I always pray to help as many people as I can in that particular week because I know we can deeply improve anxiety, stress, worry, the massive obesity problem in this country, I know we can  help make so many people feel better fun stop, and WE LOVE having this special opportunity DAILY!!!

June 4th

I have trained a lot of high performers over many, many years, still do, and i have seen them very early in the morning. They will frequently answer the door in their pyjamas, rubbing their eyes from a heavy night’s sleep.

They say if I wasn’t their knocking them up, they wouldn’t be doing it.

BUT they are eternally thankful for getting their behind’s out of bed and getting stuff done once the workout is complete.

The facts are it DOES set you up to feel like a million bucks, it does get your mind in the right place to aim high and perform towards the top end of your ability, and gets all that negativity OUT of your mind very early in the day.

I do call it a competitive advantage for those In business or high powered jobs.

It’s a competitive advantage to be a parent or grandparent too, handling all the stress your kids will likely go through at school, and they rely big time on you to be understanding, positive and lead the way in their lives as a great. Shining light example for them.

Personally, my motivation doesn’t come from the days that I am not active.

My higher ;levels of performance mentally does not come from days I have been idle.

I learned a long time ago I can’t really afford to be in that state for long, as I have a lot of output and performance to get through in my week so I have to kick my own behind to be at the top of my game too.

When we move we get our minds right in a big way. In the daily war with mental health where so many people suffer hugely, I urge you to take a massive step in the right direction and start to crush all the negativity and anxiety that is holding your life back-done waste another day.

3rd June 2024

An amazing start to the new programme today and here’s another secret on how we come up with those exercises.

We are very lucky to have a very loyal, committed and talented bunch of great trainers at the gym. All of you are getting better all the time, and I’m always thinking what would be the next stage for you in your development.

When you have a lot of people who train consistently, you get to know their abilities very well indeed, and you know the path they have been on too, their struggles, their victories along the way.

Then when I see others who are not quite that level of strength just yet, I know what is more likely to happen along the way as they get used to the demands of training with us, and get used to what our expectations and standards are.

The facts are every single person will achieve a great standard as long as they keep showing up, keep eating well and keep recovering well.

Really good and effective programmes will always happen if you have great talented people working with you  every day demanding very high standards of service, so we can have a lot of feedback and give you the very best we can.

We love your consistency, the never say die attitude and love the way you put your workout first time after time, because you know the way it makes you consistently feel, perform and live your life so well each and every day.

Many of our members get asked “how did you keep going for 10 years or more as a gym member”?

We get asked as a gym how do we last 67 years as a gym?

I’m sure many of you who have worked for employers for long periods of time ‘how did you do it for so long”?

The answer is always CONSISTENCY COMPOUNDS.

You didn’t just happen to train with us 10 or more years. It was one workout at a time, one good food shop at a time, the times when you put your workout ahead of everything else less important, the times you valued your health above everything-ALL OF THESE moments add up, and their value multiplies on top of each other.

Whilst others may have been falling for the latest fad just to “fit in” and be a sheep in life, you are the LION, who has independence of mind and you know consistency works even when you are tempted to give up, try something ‘easier’, but you knew you were on the right path, and results would indeed come as long as you trusted the process.

To the LIONS, we salute you, knowing the power of seeing through no matter what and reaping the massive rewards of staying consistent.
