Overcoming adversity should be your mission, it is far more rewarding and gives a lot more self-satisfaction than giving in and thinking you can’t get through challenges in life anymore.

Lots of things may go against you in life, but playing the “victim” is no kind of strategy, however bad things may seem at times.

Your options always get better and more in number when you are prepared to fight for your future, instead of accepting that just because things aren’t going your way at the moment, they will never get better.

I’ve seen too many people achieve great things, fulfilment and happiness by trying hard, keeping going when they think of quitting at times, and eventually get over the “finish line” and are glad they kept going no matter what.

Once you learn that lesson, you find out that anything else is possible as long as you keep fighting, keep pushing, and keep getting up no matter what life throws at you.

Don’t let anyone talk you into a faddy way of being healthy.

You will never beat putting good workouts in, at least three times a week. You need to strength train, you need to work on your mobility and your need to work your heart and lungs well regularly.

You will never beat eating well at least 80% of the time. Natural food works in healthy sized portions, don’t pile your food high, keep it reasonable, carbs the size of your fist, protein the size of your fist and plenty of vegetables.

Sleeping is great medicine, getting to bed early will heal your body, renew your energy supplies daily and keep your much fresher mentally and physically in every single area.

Some may tell you to get on “weight loss injections” at great personal expense.

Apart from the monetary cost, the endless release of bad side effects in the news are already well-documented, meaning these injections don’t really car about your health, and when you come off them, the weight not only comes back on but plenty more on top too, making future fat loss even harder than before.

These injections are already highly controversial, have a lot of bad side effects and that’s the short term, the long term effects are not even known yet, don’t put yourself in danger, do things the RIGHT way!!!

Moving forward with your health is always a series of small steps.

You don’t run a marathon without first of all being a beginner struggling to run 10 yards in one go once upon a time.

If your legs are weak, then doing squats or lunges are hard initially, but you won’t do deep ones to start with, a small bend in your legs is your first step, and over time your legs adjust and over time you are able to bend your legs deeper and deeper.

You won’t eat perfect to start with, be realistic, drinking more water is a start, eating more fruit is a victory and eating more greens with each meal will have massive positive consequences for your health, but all this takes time and small steps works, as long as you are moving forward then it’s all good.

Everyone makes mistakes, everyone misses workouts from time to time, but if you focus on moving forward continuously instead of perfection all the time and getting frustrated and giving up, then you will only keep feeling better, performing better and feel in control of your health for the first time in a long time instead of life overwhelming you.

Friday 16th Jan 2026

2026 can be your year of when you start to BUILD again.

Everyone has times when they just survive, but the build mindset can change everything.

Hitting the gym most days means you are intent on building yourself up, making yourself more resilient, building a strong immune system and building unbreakable energy and toughness.

Those old injures? Rehab them, and make time to fix the stuff that nearly broke you, and get those body parts into use step by step, it CAN be done so take advantage of what we do at the gym..

Eating poorly? That’s one way to break yourself down.

Rebuilding means eating good food, fresh food, drinking more water, eating more greens, eating high and long lasting energy foods, eliminating sugar and doing it time after time after time-consistency works.

Skipping good sleep, you will NEVER beat that.

Get your head down regularly and early in the week, you have to recover after your workouts, recover after a hard day and be ready for the challenges of the next day, when you rest properly you recharge properly and you will attack each day with strength and vigour.

Habits make us or break us and get us in a build mindset, instead of merely surviving.
