You can do this, time and time again I tell you.

Everyone I have ever met, as long as they are willing to give their heart and should to it, can not only get fitter, but change their life.

Changing direction in your life is a series of well thought out choices.

We all have a few things we do wrong each day/week, things that if we stopped doing them, we would feel better in a relatively short period of time.

We are all on a specific course as we speak, shaped by our daily habits, which lead to weekly results which lead to heck of a difference over 3 months.

If our course is set by eating lots of pastries and wine, then it shouldn’t shock you to learn that in 3 months, you could easily put on a stone without thinking about it.

Reversing that course though is much harder than you thought.

Once you put on the weight, your mind changes too. You are slower in thought as you are carrying around a lot of stuff that doesn’t belong on your body. Everything becomes too much effort.

Your aspirations are lower because you have kind of settled for this new weight, and it won’t stop piling on as your eating may remain the same.

So the change you need to make is horrendously hard when your mind is in a difference place. You need to reboot your brain, and this can only happen once you expose yourself to the wonders of moving more and exercising.

There is NO chance of you staying still. Either the weight keeps piling on, either your heart and lungs suffer from a lack of work, either your brain suffers from a lack of purpose OR you start changing it around with purpose, determination and a sense that you will show up no matter, what and battle through this challenging time in your life.

Which direction are you going in? It’s all shaped by your daily habits so be honest and make sure they are going to work in a very positive way for you and your life.

The “Potcher”

The Potcher is someone who comes in and trains a little bit, then goes, then comes in. and does a little bit more, but never gives their heart and soul to their training, expecting magic to happen even if they are not willing to put the real work in.

My father once called me a Potcher when I was younger and it hurt like hell. Unfortunately, it was the truth.

I was getting into the habit of coming in, doing a bit of this, a bit of that and expecting great results and I somehow “deserved” success. I resented being called a potcher but I knew deep down he was right.

The next session I stayed longer, asked for some more advice and started training with people who I knew were in better shape than me, and although the sessions were ultra-tough I knew I would benefit from them.

The results eventually came in, but I soon learned that true results take TIME to happen, they take continues EFFORT, showing up for sessions even though you don’t really feel like it.

It was a valuable lesson and one I was determined to pass on. Some people still don’t get it, but many who train with us now totally get it.

They realise that to improve, you need strong foundations. You need to build not only your body, but a steely determination to inch forward one step at a time, even when the going gets tough (and it will).

The discipline you need to improve in your training and eating transcends perfectly to other areas of your life. If you can show you can STICK at something no matter what, accept there will be many ups and downs, then your likelihood of success goes WAY up in anything you put your mind to in life.

Anything that’s worth getting or achieving takes heart, it means you need to show up even when you don’t want to because deep down you know that effort will eventually be worth it.

Don’t be a “potcher”, seek real change in your life through hard work and continuous effort.

DO MORE.

Sounds obvious, but this is the secret to getting much more done in your life.

We all have 168 hours in the week, it’s how we use them that makes the critical difference.

Can’t fit things in? Not enough time? Other things in life take over?

Many, many years ago, I started to get up early to train people at often 4am. To be honest, it was really tough at first, I struggled but the end result blew me away.

I started to move really early, but soon after I started to feel better. Then my thinking started to be crystal clear and my ambitions rose on what was possible not only in that day, but in life too.

It was like having 3 hours a day EXTRA that was free of distraction to not only do the things that needed doing, but to do a whole lot more.

5AM could be your new time in life that sets you up for an amazing day. I didn’t used to be a “morning person” either!!!

What would 3 hours more in your day look like? If you have children, then they won’t be up for a couple of hours, so you have clear uninterrupted time, in fact you have around an extra 20 hours a week to get a monumental amount of valuable things done.

I know that extra 3 hours a day in business is invaluable to me. Write down how much it would enable you to do, PLUS the rewards that would give you, emotionally, financially and the stress it would save you later in the day when it’s often impossible to get done.

It’s time for you to RAISE the bar, expect more out of yourself than anyone else could.

The one thing that’s certain in life is change. It’s going to happen so why not try to keep up with it? Keep up by planning more, keep up by working harder and setting stronger foundations for your future.

If you’re still wondering where this extra 20 hours a week is coming from, then you have to make sacrifices and get to bed earlier especially in the week. You’re not missing much in the week apart from maybe reality TV, and that would surely be a blessing missing that!

We all make choices, this is one of the most powerful ones you can make to “invent” more time that becomes ultra-productive and sets your days up to be transformational for your life.
