Monday 13th-fighting illness

Great to see so many of you recovering from the flu/colds/whatever has been going around, and some of you are still struggling with it.

That feeling of illness, low or no energy is highly discouraging just as you want to get going this year.

What you can do though is do everything you can do to get better and feel better, because anyone would swap feeling ill with feeling fantastic.

If you have fresh and natural foods in your house, you will be on the road to recovery, and only enhancing your energy levels and crushing the germs within you that are making you feel so rough. Don’t forget those same foods will help your immune system protect you from future viruses/flu’s etc, even more reason for a complete lifestyle change for the future too.

You may not feel like drinking much water, but dehydration will drag out your cold, crush your energy levels, and kill your enthusiasm for anything, and definitely slow down your recovery.

Drinking more water will pull you through this rough time, and remind you how important water is to daily performance levels when you exercise and for general life.

You recover when you rest, so give your body a chance to rest by getting to bed early, this applies if you are ill or not, sleep is medicine and will heal your body better than any tablets or pills, proper sleep will make you perform at a high level, missing out on sleep is proven to be harmful over time, and when it’s all about you feel good and at your best right now, put sleep at the top of your list of priorities.

Good habits not only boost your health, but will pull you out of a hole when you feel sick and will do anything to get back to normal.

Monday Jan 13th

Your path is different to everyone else, so don’t make the mistake of comparing yourself to others all the time.

Your rate of progress will be different to others, but what I am certain of is that if you keep showing up at least 3 times a week, if you eat healthy 80% of the time and if you get to bed early most of the time, then you WILL be in very good health.

Always keep looking forward and never look backwards regretting what’s gone in the past, what’s happened has happened, and only good things will happen in your future if you keep on putting the work in, keep showing up and surrounding yourself with encouraging and positive people.

It’s monday again and a perfect time to turn the page and for you to write the next exciting chapter in your life story, it won’t happen by accident though, so keep showing up and having a go, however hard that may be sometimes even walking through the door.

Jan 9th

Failing is an essential part of learning and growing, especially at the gym, and failure is a much needed process we all need at times in life. If  yo are having a go in life, trust me you will fail a lot!!!

Any kind of new challenge has a high failure rate, simply because it’s all new and new skills are needed to overcome each exercise.

The second time you will get better at it, and by the third try, you will wonder why you worried about it in the first place.

You ALWAYS win though every time you walk through the door (which is often the hardest part).

Every time you walk through the door, it’s proven by multiple studies that you mental health receives a massive boost.

Every time you show up the very fact you are surrounded by positive, uplifting people, you will experience a sense of wellbeing like nothing else.

Those who simply show up and keep having a go, are massive WINNERS to me, no matter how bad a day they are having, even if they are having a low energy day with a ton of bad stressful stuff on their mind, to me they are incredible and amazingly brave because they are giving themselves the BEST medicine to get through the rough patch they maybe going through in their lives.
