What you care about and get to MISS in your day is something you can easily avoid, even when you are upset emotionally.

For starters, I’m guessing you never miss brushing your teeth, you don’t miss washing, you don’t miss sleeping very often-all of these you never miss because you consider them essential in your life to function, you get them done with zero fuss end of story no matter what’s going on in your life.

When something out of the blue comes up, you may miss your workout, your eating may be all over the place and a ton of stress is all around.

The day after that becomes your choice whether you keep missing your workout and whether you keep eating badly/erratically. Someone has better take charge of the situation and the sooner you do it the better.

Every emotional situation can put the brakes on our exercising but how long that goes on is up to you, and even a small workout will do to get your head right.

Your workouts are your best stress reliever, your very best strategy to feel better even if you don’t feel like doing it, and invaluable for letting you think properly when maybe all those around you are losing their heads.

When we are stressed or upset, doing a workout seems off putting, but its the only way to get YOU time to be alone, to think with new clarity which may bring a fresh slant on the situation, and get you ready to deal with the challenges ahead.

Consider your workouts a must do and your best fighting chance every day, as essential as cleaning your teeth and washing, because without it the stress will build up and eventually overwhelm you, and before you know it you won’t feel like starting back.

When we settle into routine, our life tends to evolve into what we repeatedly do. New year’s resolutions may be rife, but habits that stick usually take far longer than the end of January when most resolutions collapse and fail at the first hurdle.

The most powerful reason short term on why we do things is to feel better.

Nobody likes feeling down, nobody likes feeling rock bottom on energy and down on themselves in mood, nobody likes feeling pain when moving their body and most of us would do anything to get out of this vicious circle.

If you focus on getting better every day, move bit more every day, eat a little better every day, drink a bit more water every day, hit the sack a bit earlier every day (you will more likely feel like it because you will be training hard), then these habits always mean you eventually escape the vicious circle you found yourself in, and then your habits take you to a place because “what you repeatedly” do is transforming you on all fronts.

Your routine is everything, your habits are everything, and although they won’t be perfect straight away after christmas, the quicker you get into the whole process of change and add small changes along the way, the quicker you will feel better, perform better and make all areas of your life better in all ways.

Getting back to the rhythm of exercising and eating well after Christmas is something that can be tough to start with.

Most of the year we are used to eating well, drinking enough water and resting enough.

At least two of these can go out of the window at christmas, and getting back into routine is something lots of us put off for various reasons. We have a natural tendency to look for safety. In our modern society, the sofa is very attractive on wet cold days, we don’t want to “catch a cold or flu”, we rationalise that “tomorrow” or “next week” is a better option to exercise.

Then before we know it, February looks more attractive as it’s “lighter nights”, and after all, we are getting used to our baggy jumpers and that extra notch up on our belt’s is “nothing to worry about”.The safety option when you reveal the truth becomes more like the delusional option.

The safety option is in fact code for “safety fat” to protect through the winter in our heads, even though our immune system is on steady decline if we keep not moving much and eating stuff we know is going to give us much more chance of high blood sugar levels, even leading to diabetes over time and high blood pressure.

The “safety” option didn’t work out too well in lockdowns either if you remember, when our anxiety and mental health hit dangerous levels for many of us due to isolation and a media out to scare us into oblivion, many still haven’t recovered. The best safety option is always to move more, to have a go in life, to reward you body will good food after working out, to embrace your positive community and say to yourself no more mediocrtiy and this year REALLY will be YOUR year, but nothing changes unless you show up for your workuts and KEEP doing it.Your choice.

January 2nd 2023

Every day we offer you the chance to prove what side of your brain is in charge. The one that makes you live with courage, or the one that enables you to live like a coward. We all have that choice

1. The one that urges you to make the tougher but ultimately more beneficial choices, and drive your life on to a much better place.

2. OR the one that is easy, requires zero effort, makes you feel happy for sound 15 mins but ultimately makes you feel very low in mood, live a life unsatisfied and encourages you to seek out people who justify this existence as “the way to go” and “life has been unfair to us”, social media is a GREAT example of that, plenty of people will willingly give you sympathy but tell you to wake up BEHIND YOUR BACK.

2023 shouldn’t mean resolutions that usually last 5 mins, it should mean the daily practice of reminding yourself who’s really in charge of your brain and body.

If you move more daily, exercise most days, eat better and elevate yourself to surround yourself with people who will make you better in all ways, then these habits will 100% make you feel better, do more meaningful things with your life, and get away from the habits, and perhaps even people who have been holding you back and even destroying your life.

Give your body some rigorous daily tasks to stop your mind cheating you out of a better present life and future.

Hitting the gym tomorrow is not a choice for you if you want to feel better. Looking better is a by-product of getting your MIND RIGHT first. Then you will eat better and the momentum starts.

Dec 22nd

At the end of the year, it’s a great time to weigh up your wins and perceived losses, in my mind the stuff that didn’t work out so well for you are LESSONS you can learn from and approach in a different way in the future starting now. Most of us make bad decisions with our lifestyle to shield us from the pain that may have happened to us in the past.

Excess food, excess alcohol can often be an emotional crutch from emotionally upsetting incidents or periods in our past. Those things make us feel good for a short time, but only add to the long term misery, and can multiply from there only adding to our feeling of emotional upset and long term unhappiness.

When your mind is everywhere but looking after yourself, it often seems like doing a workout is the last thing you want, but really is the BEST thing for you, for your mood, to lift you out of the fog you are in emotionally and physically, and the only way for you to fight for the future you always wanted that maybe curerently you think is beyond you.

If you keep doing the same old things then you are very likely to get the same old results. If you have showed up regularly this year, and eaten well 80% of the time, then you are very liekly to be feeling great, as long as you haven’t been held back by the energy vampires that tell you not. to have a go in life, because you only make them look bad because of their own lack of courage, effort and application.

So many of you have had an outstanding year, some of you could have done a bit better, and as I see the big picture from all of your experiences, I can see the traits that make so many members successful and the traits that make some members not realise their amazing potential.Reflect on your year, none of us are perfect, but try and put into place things that HELP you, and try and get rid of the things that TEAR YOU DOWN.

Write down on a piece of paper, make a list of both, and you are entirely welcome to send them to me privately.Be honest and you maybe surprised what’s really going on and what you can REALLY DO.View insights0 post reachLikeCommentSend
