JULY 6TH

I hear doubts amongst many of you every day. Can you lose body fat, can you get stronger, can you get to previous heights, can you feel better and will your mental health improve, and look the best you have ever done?

I always say same thing, KEEP SHOWING UP AND KEEP PUTTING THE WORK IN.-consistency works big time.Your moments of doubt signify that you are way closer to your goals than you ever think, and since nothing was ever achieved easily in life, doubt is often one of the last tests to you getting over the line finally and doing it, and reaping the huge benefits of your hard work. The way to finally beat doubt too is always doubling down and working through it. Every time you don’t stop, don’t put your training on hold, don’t give up on your dreams, you are achieving important physchological victories, and your mental resilience continues its journey to becoming unbeatable.

Doubt can be horrible, but a vital and very necessary test in life we must face continuously and solve it with real action daily. Growth as a human being is not achieved without it.

July 5th

Our new vertical jump tests has brought fresh dynamism off all of you at the gym.

Where you are night now is great, but we have to push on, because you are either getting better or falling back.

To jump higher, you need to be adjusting what you are doing, getting your legs even stronger (the first thing to go as you get older/or play higher level sport), and we all want high performance and the only way to do it is analyse what we are doing now, and what we could do better. If your legs are strong, your explosive power is getting better, your balance will be much better, your core will be stronger and bottom line is you will be feeling on top of the world full stop, because in many cases, you will be turning back the clock in age terms and realising as you get older, you can continue to get much fitter.Come in tomorrow with fresh purpose and a fresh desire to only get better, there is a tried and tested way to do it!!

June 27th

Everyone starts off with different genetics, we all potentially have different abilities, but those genetics are very often counting for not very much, when that born talent doesn’t put the work in.

I will guarantee if you gave me two people, one who picks up things easily to start with, and someone who struggles with strength, balance, movement, coordination, then most of you over a 12 month period-5 year period would pick the more genetically individual.

Then let’s tell a story of things haoppening in life frequently. The genetically gifted person starts off well trainng often, but after a few weeks starts to miss sessions, and then hardly shows up at all.The more physically awkward individual shows up most days with a great attitude, starts seeing results from minor victories and although takes longer to learn new stuff, will spare the time to learn it until they get good at it.

The more gifted individual starts eating badly, has fizzy bottles of soft drinks on the way home from school/work daily, lives on processed food and takeaways, stays up late, and becomes an expert of the latest TV show/MAKE THAT SHOWS and becomes an expert too of living a false life on social media! That once god-given talent slowly disappears into an ancient memory, and that rut they get in becomes a massive struggle to ever get out of, they have to learn to work hard and discipline themselves for the first time in their lives-most do not want to do that.

The less gifted individual changes their diet from top to bottom because of their promising results, energy starts to flood through their body, and they start to receive compliments on their appearance and performance in sports they previously were afraid to have a go at. Self-confidence, self-esteem starts to go through the roof and all areas of their life imoproves.

To cut a long story short, if I put those individuals against each other a few months late in all sorts of tests, there would be no comparison proving that genetic gifts count for NOTHNG unless that talent works continuously hard, and hard work, attitude, consistency will ALWAYS win the day over the longer term.Anyone can be coached to a very high standard as long as they open up their minds to what is REALLY possible in life, stay humble, keep their head down and quitely put a ton of work in relentlessly.View insights0 post reachLikeCommentSend

JUNE 25TH-second half counts!

Why you should sign of contract to YOURSELF-you deserve success.

You all started the gym with big promises to yourself and maybe to a lot of other people that “this time” you will finally nail it, and become as fit and healthy as you could possibly be.

Your mental health would become better, your physical health would blast the way out of the doldrums and you would start feeling much more energetic every day.

You would commit to putting good foods in your shopping trolley, and avoid a lot of the food aisles that are full of junk like ready meals, multipack crisps and chocolate, and all the processed foods that can be highly damaging over time, as well as inflaming your joints and generally contributing heavily to ill health..

You liked the company at the gym too, you finally met like-minded individuals who had similar goals to yourself, and you found their encouraging words and support highly motivating and comforting, just as you may have been going through dark times in your own life.

You opened your mind to new types of exercise, even if you were experienced at the gym from past years, you accepted you did not know it all (none of us do), and you became a student again, soaking up new knowledge and exercise ideals that you wanted to spend time with.

You told yourself you would not let anyone down, work as hard as you possibly could and never ever give in.

Now is the BEST time just at the half-time part of the year, to sign of contract with YOURSELF that you need to re-commit to those values and principles, and make the remaining 6 months of the year the best you have EVER had, and WHY you need to do it (how it affects other important areas of your life-we all need deep down reasons to keep changing our lives for the better.

I pledge from TODAY that there will be NO more excuses, no more shortcuts and definitely no more regrets!!!!!

Payment

15 years ago, the gym membership was £30 a month. 15 years later in 2023 it has still been £30 a month but we have had now had to change that slightly up to £35 a month (but keeping kids the SAME AT £30 A MONTH) so we can continue to re-invest in the gym, to continue our further fitness education to make your workout experience continuously better, and to keep adding services at a very high level, with a minimum possible charge.

Since 2008, we have only ADDED new services, such as a massive ground breaking training area outside at the back of the gym with a lot of equipment and classes, we train members online every day, we do classes at the beach 6am monday and friday, Gail Rees does a great class on a monday, we train every single person who wants to be trained at the gym (with all sorts of ailments and abilities), we cannot add services for ZERO extra money and zero increase for 15 years (like most/all of you wouldn’t).

We train members recovering from major surgery and strokes, all the way to people who play professional sport, or in pro academies wanting to play professional sport, that takes a lot of continuous exercise education at a high level.

I have held these prices through the great recession of 2008, Brexit, a pandemic and a lot of other pressures, which obviously put pressure on my family too and the gym.

We realise no other gym trains people unless they charge a lot more money every single session if you wanted it, it’s standard procedure with us and we want to keep that still very high standard.

For example, most of you know I have trained people privately for 30 years and I charge £50 for 30 mins to put it into context, that’s the level of experience you are getting.

We are small family business with 3 young children trying to do our very best for you with the highest possible standard of professional training. Whilst we would like to keep prices the same forever, hopefully you appreciate my kids have to eat too and the gym has to continue to run properly and fairly.

So new charges as of 1st July 2023
