Tues 16th April

Hope keeps us going, and pessimism keeps us drowning in despair, we must keep making a choice.

We must always have hope, because that’s what always keeps us going, no matter how much pessimism threatens to overtake our lives.

Hope encourages us to take action today, when perhaps we wouldn’t have. We tend to do things when we think there may be a strong chance of a good payoff for taking action and making the effort.

Hope makes us do a workout, when there maybe others in our lives are saying “what’s the point”! We know what works best for us.

Hope makes shop for good healthy food, when some of our friends are living on takeaways and processed foods. We know how much better our body performs on quality food as fuel.

Hope makes us not drink in the week especially, when some of our friends may encourage us to think its the only way to avoid stress. We know alcohol only adds to stress, adds to anxiety levels and worry, and solves nothing. There’s a time and a place, and drinking in the week is a bad habit to get into end of story.

Hope is essential because it keeps our sense of purpose strong, and keeps us from quitting when obstacles come up from time to time, stay hopeful, keep taking action and be determined to stay the course no matter what. 

14th April 2025

Great start at the new programme today, there was a lot to take in but everyone that came in approached the task with a fantastic attitude. I will shout a lot first day as we have a lot to learn and absorb, but it’s all for the good of the collective at the gym.

Yes you will be stiff tomorrow, yes you will struggle at times, but we are exactly the gym that does NOT go through the motions and 100% of the time there’s a lot more than you think going on at any one time..

If you have started to see strange looking protocols on the gym, they are recovery protocols for individuals at the gym going through their OWN programme due to their needs to recover from ailments and often serious injury, please understand that, and each stage of their recovery is important.

Here’s the beauty of the gym, we have ALL SORTS of people at the gym each on their own journey, at very different stages and all sorts of different abilities.

The MAIN point is that we help EVERYONE reach their goals and to do that takes many thought processes going on at the same time, many often decided when one path doesn’t work, and we instantly have to come up with another solution that WILL work.

There is always a plan in pace, but we have to read and react when challenges arise, being willing to try another way when the path we thought would work hits a roadblock.

Monday is off to a strong start, be prepared to work and keep rising to the huge challenges that await you.

Friday 11th April

Allocating more time to stretching, rolling, mobility work is something most people think is NOT important, but the opposite is true.

Training well can make you better, that there is no doubt.

Eating well only complements your training, repairing the tearing down of muscle tissue from training, and replenishing your energy levels so you only come back the next session stronger every time.

Injuries and strains though can happen if you don’t stretch, you don’t roll or you avoid mobility work. This is the “secret sauce” guaranteed to look after you in times of stiffness, pain and potential immobility, which will NEVER come if you incorporate these vital elements into your training sessions.

I’ve seen plenty of you come into very stiff and feeling sorry for yourself from different ailments, BUT when you exercise, you stretch and mobilise your body in an intelligent way, you walk out the gym not only much more energised, but much more mobile, flexible and most importantly OUT OF PAIN.

Spare the time, do the work and feel your best all of the time.

Monday 7th April

Don’t lower your standards to anyone else’s?

So and so trains but she drinks 4-5 times a week.

So and so eats rubbish all the time but still trains.

So and so goes to be very late every night but she still trains.

That’s great for them, but they are very unlikely to get lasting good results, they will likely have low energy and be constantly irritable.

Focusing on your OWN journey and path, and doing your best cuts out the noise going on all around you and always delivers much better results when you focus on what’s best for YOU and your health, and in turn every area of your life.

Getting to be early works, eating right works, not drinking multiple nights works, and keeping your health standards high WORKS short term and long term, strong foundations last, gimmicks and fads do not, and you will never cheat the system and a bad lifestyle full of poor habits will always catch up with you.

What you do is nobody else’s business, living your own life by your own choices means you keep yourself accountable for your own success, your own health and your own future, and that way you will not rely on anyone else but yourself.

Friday 4th April

Your circumstances should never hold you back-because we have proven they can’t.

If you cannot walk, show up and do your best, PLENTY of opportunities for you.

If you cannot do much with your upper body, celebrate what you CAN do, and go from there, because usually there will be plenty of places to improve upon if you keep finding a way.

If anxiety and worry threatens to overcome you, realise you aren’t the only one, more likely just one of many. Exercising and showing up will always be your BEST strategy.

If you have a physical test coming up, stick with the plan, stay on course, keep doing your best-the test WILL be beaten.

Bad back, bad knees. bad shoulder?-The gym is the PERFECT place to fix them all, spend some time on it, don’t panic, take your time and do what’s tried and tested to heal them.

UNDERSTAND there are plenty of people like you, and also plenty of people NOT like you also on their own journey. Yes the solutions can take time, but we are all seeking to get to the same place-being fit and well, physically and mentally.

Keep supporting each other, keep backing each other up, keep believing in your ability to do great things, keep doing it for YOURSELF, end of story and don’t worry what anyone else is doing, you are writing your OWN story, and watch how well it influences EVERY area of your life in a positive way-which will only make you stronger to help others close to you too!!!
